Canes in the box seat for a home final now.

I'd say the Blues are the most likely team to be in the final at present. The Canes really need a bonus point win tomorrow to put them in a good position due to their points differential being worse than the Blues.

@african-monkey Yep, Parsons rates him as one of the best in the scrum.

I thought that Cowley-Tuioti had a great game tonight. The Blues will miss him.

    Edit:

Gerard Cowley Tuioti (19 tackles) and Dalton Papalii (18) led a big defensive effort by the Blues, and neither missed a hit all night.

@kiwimurph It only takes the Canes to drop tomorrows game against the Brumbies to bring them back into it....

@bovidae Yup, he's one of the most underrated players in NZ rugby and has been a great servant for us.

@Derpus Those 2 tries the Reds got shouldn't have been given.

@african-monkey you fluffybunnies win 99% of the games you participate in and still manage to get butthurt by a ref in a match you won. God damn.

    96%.

They still have an issue of points for against though.

Crusaders have Rebels last game whereas Landers have Brumbies.

@kiwimurph Yeah true, but the Crusaders have dropped points in 2 games which no-one would have picked, and the Highlanders aren't that far back on for and against providing they smash the Tahs tomorrow.

Thank goodness for the Blues forwards ,while I commend their top of the table position, the team do rely on the strong forward game. That is fair enough I suppose, but the backs do play too flat I reckon.,and there sometimes seems a disjoint between the two. The old adage that the game is won in the forwards seems to ring true in this team.I’m not knocking them just reckon they could be more expansive,(and probably lose!) Keep up the good work.,nothing beats winning.

@african-monkey pfft fucking nonsense. If all the tries from 50/50 passes got called back you could chalk off half the tries the ABs have ever scored.

The second try was undeniably a try. Ball went back out of the hands.

@derpus Yup agree with the first thing you said.

Certainly don't agree with the 2nd.

coming back from injury. His hands were exceptional.

@Derpus if the reffing is pants, it's pants. Seriously, if we'd lost having tries like hte first one allowed, I'd be absolutely spewing. Honestly, some of the TMO decisions are the equivalent of justin marshall's commentating

Hodgman is getting dropped from ABs.

The Hodgman-Pierce combo in the scrum was done over.

Whereas Karl/Paddy had the wood on Tupou/Reds lock.

But only this year. If he'd brought this before, he'd have been challenging for the all blacks

Well that game was ruined by poor officiating. Pointless having a TMO if they are going make mistakes like that.

Anybody defending the ref team should consider one of the most biased commentators, Tim Horan, called the non-trys correctly. The embarrassed silence after the second decision was telling.

I was particularly annoyed by dumb shit like players being in touch not being called, balls not being knocked called as one, and personal favourite Akira being pinged for not rolling away when he was on our side of the ruck.

In a competition that is a race to the most bonus points I feel the Blues were hard done by to not get one last night. Our forwards crushed them, and score line massively flattered them.

    Rant over.

On the positive side, one of the best games I’ve seen from Patty. Christie continues to show he’s the best halfback in the team by some distance. TJ was doing some great work on defence, the entire teams scramble was awesome.
