    The NSW Waratahs will limp to the finish line of Super Rugby Trans- Ta$man, with interim coach Chris Whitaker revealing they barely have enough players for their final round clash with the Chiefs.

    NSW have one final chance to bank their first win of a horror year but will be undermanned with more players joining the casualty ward ahead of the Brookvale Oval match.

    Skipper and halfback Jake Gordon (knee), hooker Dave Porecki (calf) and tighthead prop Darcy Breen (neck) all picked up injuries during last round's loss to the Highlanders.

    Fellow props Angus Bell (illness), Harry Johnson-Holmes (neck) and Tetetra Faulkner (back), who missed the Highlanders, are also in some doubt.

    Ah bugger. I've done my MCL so can't front up. Damn shame as it is the first weekend I've had off in ages.

    @kiwimurph bullshit!

    Sydney is fucking massive, and there are thousands of rugby players there

    And i am often reliably informed that the good old grass roots Shute Shield is the perfect stepping stone to Test rugby, so Super Rugby should be a breeze.

    They won two World Cups with that path doncha know

    Can't wait for Poido to run out and show these pampered woofter "professional" players how it's done.

    If the Chiefs don't take the piss and the fatties do their work they'll be sweet.

    @yeetyaah It's your defence that will require work as the Waratahs have shown they can score points. It's just their defence sucks.

    @antipodean yeah true noticed that, they seem to bring other teams down to their defensive level.

    Kapeli's selection was probably to be expected with all of the injuries. I'd say PGS is the backup lock. 😲

    Taulani might have got himself a flight over to Aust but the options are limited.

    The Chiefs have resisted an SOS call to Brodie Retallick despite having another locking crisis on their hands for the final round of the Super Rugby Trans- Ta$man competition.

    Having started the competition a month ago with a scanty second row, the Chiefs’ stocks have been hit even harder ahead of the match against the Waratahs in Sydney on Saturday night, with both Josh Lord and Mitchell Brown ruled out after sustaining concussions in the win over the Rebels in the NSW capital last Sunday.

    Naitoa Ah Kuoi hasn’t played since the Aotearoa final, nursing a neck injury, while the other contracted locking option, Laghlan McWhannell (knee) has been sidelined for a third straight season, and even wider squad member Samipeni Finau hasn’t featured since injuring his shoulder against the Blues on May 1.
