    Heartbreak Ridge was a minor Eastwood film, but it had some major cringe contemporary popular culture RAP-ROCK music. OOF.

    When you're on the cutting edge of music culture:

    The Edge of the World

    Stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Dominic MOnaghan

    Based on a true story where Meyers is a bit of a black sheep british aristocrat and gets made leader of a Borneo island in the mid 1800s, and defies the British when they want him to make it part of the British Empire.

    2.5 headhunters out of 5 could have been so much better.

    Good story, just moved along slowly (obviously I have no idea how accurate it was)

    @bones

    It comes from Army slang and is reserved for a young officer who ingratiates himself with the senior officers' wives in order to advance himself above his talents.

    I have no evidence that either of the Goss boys did such a thing but they have certainly been advanced above their talents.

    And besides, they look like they might be poodle fakers.

    @antipodean I'm gonna get fucking hammered for this (and probably rightly so)

    but

    my kids fucking love the Grown Ups movies. So i watched them with them over the chrissy holidays. And you know what? if you take them for what they are supposed to be, they are surprisingly entertaining movies with a bit of heart. Especially the first one.

    Also they have Salma

    How do you know you don't like them if you haven't watched any?

    At least watch a couple, although don't do what I did with Zack Snyder and watch 90% of his movies because the trailers are often good.
