I don't purchase KFC anymore. I rank fast food outlets by their instore cleanliness and KFC always looks dirtier than others. Except Red Rooster.

In the past I would have agreed but I found myself wandering central Auckland after our work do in the wee small hours, I didn’t eat nearly enough finger food so was pretty hungry and BK was open. The scenes were absolutely feral and I felt sorry for the little Indian staff members behind the counter dealing with all the drunken munters. Food, wrappers etc were strewn everywhere but fair to say the workstations were bloody grim too.

@mn5 I had KFC for the first time in probably 10 years a few weeks back, but was a zinger burger.

As I have mentioned before, IMO the best chicken was the stuff near the end of its allowed time in the warmer.

The KFC special herbs and spices comes prepared in a package, then mixed with flour before starting the breading of the chicken.

I always enjoyed KFC, bit since being back home have found a Tegels takeout range, and actually really enjoy Nashville style or Louisana style as much as KFC. It has become my go to food while watching rugby, of course it helps thet my wife cooks it up for me and brings it out whilst I in front of tv!

I love spicy food but the spicy version of the two you mentioned, I find awful. Really raw spice with no real flavour. Love the flavour of non spiced version

Sort of reminds me of KFC hot n spicy, which is basically just cayenne pepper albeit with the extra crispy coating. Great when you can't be bothered making it yourself

Air frying definitely makes all that stuff better. Nuggets, hash browns, chicken tenders all so much better than the oven. I generally cook them 190-200c for about 18 mins

Great for crispy roast potatoes, fried chicken wings, it uses far less energy to heat than a big oven if you are cooking a small batch

When I was a kid our farms phones did not had numbers. You need to go through the town telephone exchange and the farm share lines. Each telephone had a different ring tone example two short rings or one long , one short or two short and one long. The sling was on the side of the phone. We use to call a young man who struggles to get a beard it look like a farm telephone ring. Two short and one long. After we got TV in the 70s we had a series called "nommer asseblief" (number please) which was very popular.

We use it several times a week. The CF Jrs don't eat that much, and they like roasties and it is much easier to chop up a couple of potatoes and fire them in there for 15 minutes or so than to heat up the entire oven

In SA we only got TV in the 70s and following live matches on radio. We had a deaf cousin who was an excellent rugby player (full back) who would came to us with the live matches. My dad use to draw a rugby field on an A4 paper and indicate with the pen as the game continue. I remember when our team (WP & Springbokke) would come close to scoring and the cousin would watch us and jump for joy with us as the try was scored. Being deaf he was hard as a rock and sometimes tackle after the whistle had been blown ended up in a fight.

Myself also followed cricket tests on radio when the Proteas toured Australia from 02h00 in the morning.

Yeah these things are legit - I happened upon them last year. I've started to see them gain a bit more traction online as well over the lockdown, with people comparing them to KFC. We don't eat much KFC in our household, and Mrs AWL is significantly more health conscious than I am, so we eat these maybe once a month, but they're an enjoyable feed.

I actually prefer them to KFC - you can oven bake them to drain some fat off, they don't come out soggy, and you've a fair idea that they haven't been handled by some kid that was scratching his nuts moments prior to filling your order. Added bonus of not having to wait in line for half an hour while one cashier tries to service two dozen customers.

I used to love KFC but I tend to eat the other KFC (Korean Fried Chicken) and Clems from Newtown in Sydney these days.
