@magpie_in_aus I think so; I assume that's why they were doing the haka for him in Christchurch. If his season wasn't over yet, they'd done it in Napier on Saturday, after the Ranfurly Shield game against Waikato. I assume it was Tiaan Falcon's last game, too, at least for this year.

@chris I would say Jake Mangin might be close next year. Has been in chch for 1 year and already a crusaders junior assistant coach. Was brought over by razor as a div1/RDO at sumner. Might be something in it. Has coached Brazil and done a internship at crusaders a few years ago.

My eyes are bleeding watching this shit from Canterbury,
The coaching has been shocking for 3 seasons.
New coaching team and some intelligent selections please.

They have really fallen off a cliff aye. Hawkes Bay were good to watch and thoroughly deserved to smash Canterbury, but wholly shit Canterbury are awful.

Players such as McLeod and Burke have been around the Saders for a couple of years now but they hardly look NPC level, let alone Super level.

On a positive note I thought Gibson looked OK. Never seen him play before.

Enari is starting to play like I hoped he would a few seasons ago. Good to see.

I hope we make a coaching change. This reminds me a bit like the Crusaders Blackadder days. It is not good enough Canterbury performing like this.
If Razor sees something in Jake Mangin give him the job.Something has to change.

Yes embarrassing to be honest.Canterbury shouldn't be in this mess.
Totally agree on Burke and McLeod just not up to it.
I really hope the Crusaders do not pick McLeod at least,No future there,
Mitch Gibson, younger brother of Blake Gibson ex Blues now Canes flanker.
Corey Kellow the young 20 year old open side who started the game before being injured, looks like he has the ability to play higher.
We need to get some vision and the right selections or Canterbury will get relegated, and stay down in that division.

@chris they looked more organised in attack when Debrezini went into first five ..Its interesting that Brett Cameron is running the cutter reasonbly well with the Turbos..
Despite threatening to make a comeback they finished 2nd by a long way.

Yep Debrezini took the line on more and straighten the attack.
They have selected a cart horse at Centre in McLeod he was beaten on numerous occasions, and our attack died there a few times he has no pace and just runs with his head down with no vision or throws long cut out passes to our wings which just drag the defence onto them.

Thorne's appointment was obviously a job for the old boys. He was hardly a success when coaching at Christ's College.

He is average, just like the co coach Mark Brown. Shit old boys selection for sure.

Imagine how bad the situation would be at Canterbury if they did not have the indispensable leadership skills the Hurricanes tossers see in Reed Prinsep available to them to keep the red and black ship from capsizing completely.

Whatever the Hurricanes see in Reed, Canterbury obviously see the same thing. I just don't get it personally, there are definitely better players out there including the up and coming TK Howden.

On the positive side, we must reckon the Magpies are a very well coached team. Kudos for Ozich and his assistants. They have done a great job with underrated players such as Parsons, Toala, Enari and Kaifa, just to name a few.

They are definitely no underrated by HB supporters at least. We know a thing or two about how to rate players properly given the torment of some of those thrust upon us in the past.
