I saw an interesting doco on risk levels, it might have been Jermey clarkson? Everyone has a risk threshold, and making things safer just means high risk thresholds just push harder. So things like safe cars with airbags and stuff, don’t save as many lives as they should. It was mentioned if you had a knife that shot out of the steering wheel and stabbed you instead of an airbag, people would drive really really carefully and there would be almost no accidents!
