Alan Howarth composed several scores with John Carpenter.

He made a mix of Carpenter soundtracks a few years ago. It's so good.

It’s easy to forget that Fleetwood Mac were actually a good band for a brief period in time.

@mn5 you can add Lenny to that list. Both SRV songs absolutely beautiful.

Here’s an obscure guitarist with a pretty melodic song:

SRV had such an amazing touch, what a guitarist he was.

I’ll have a listen but what I’ve heard of him in the past is almost too much bass wank if you know what I mean. Sometimes a bit less is more.

@mn5 yep totally understand. Pulled up the first clips I found. He plays with Chic Corea and others and imagine he would blend in more.

I love good Bass lines and fills, same with the drums. Anyone who can play with flourish and dynamism rates very highly with me……but too much soloing gets obnoxious after awhile. I saw one vid of Wooten with TWO other bass players exchanging lead breaks. It got tired really quickly.

An unbelievable technician though, no denying that.

@mn5 Totally understand. I went to a Joe Satriani concert and similar feeling. After 45 minutes it was like nails on a chalkboard.

Sounds a bit like humans trying to play like computers to me. Rare moments of actual groove.
Well played though and they look like they all enjoyed a sniffing craft beer afterwards 😉
