@crucial yeah all fair enough mate, I couldn't care less about the craftiness of it, and in general them selling out means more good beer in places that previously had no good beer, so that's a big win as far as I'm concerned. But in my anecdotal experience, the quality and consistency dipped, including one genuinely faulty batch. There's plenty of small still crafty breweries whose quality control is far far worse of course, but its not a myth that Panhead had some issues.

Must be a good saying, according to @mn5 logic, as I never heard that adage either.

Any self respecting ferner would die before admitting they were wrong.

Anyway, back to beer talk. Had an espresso Martini Stout from Deep Creek. Really, REALLY good and the moment I started it I wished I’d had another.

Had one of these this afternoon, not bad at all.

Puhoi Beer | Award Winning Craft Beer I Czech Pilsner larger

Puhoi Beer | Award Winning Craft Beer I Czech Pilsner larger

Brewed in Auckland, New Zealand, Puhoi Beer is our award-winning take on the classic Czech pilsner. Pouring at Puhoi Pub and other venues.

Puhoi Beer is our version of the classic Czech pilsner.

Inspired by the original Bohemian settlers of Puhoi, Puhoi Beer is a drinkable lager with a bunch of character.

If we were trying to impress you we might have crapped on about Puhoi Beer being a mix of NZ and classic Czech noble hops that provide floral, citrusy, and spicy flavours on a light malt base with subtle bready and toasty characters. But we wouldn’t want to beer-bore you so let’s just say it’s bloody tasty.

Puhoi Beer also goes well with sunshine, tall tales, good yarns, and fish ‘n’ chips wrapped in newspaper.

Your first one tastes pretty good, and the second’s not bad either.

@tim Really impressed with Puhoi Beer. Probably the closest you'll get to drinking a fresh Radeberger (Putin's favourite) or Pilsner Urquell in NZ.

The real test will be consistency between batches.

Good pilsners are hard to find at the moment.

If you want a Hazy IPA on the other hand there are about a hundred different variants

I much prefer Pilsners and Hazy's to IPA's, APA's etc at present.

Given how hot it is at the moment, beer is great! Wife got a box of Peroni on the weekend, those go down well too!

As I said above there are just TOO many Hazys but they are ridiculously popular so brewers are giving the people what they want which is some cases tastes like alcoholic Orange Juice.

@mn5 anything is better than the over-hopped IPA, Double IPA, APA etc that many brewews are making.

Generally, like anything, its easy to stay away from the rubbish Hazy's.

Loads and loads of full flavoured and strong as fuck stouts out there. Just don’t drive after having a couple under any circumstances.

    I like both!

Brewed a fantastic Pilsner a few weeks ago that we're enjoying; but also love good hazy and hoppy IPA. Can't beat a nice clean lager/pilsner in summer

@nzzp Lager yep, as I said, had the McLeods Longboarder last week, after a hot day on the golf course 👌

Most cold beers go down well in that situation though 🍺

I havent brewed anything for a couple of years now, too easy to buy it 🙂

I received an early Christmas present of Kereru Brewing's Advent Calendar which comprises of 24 different beers for the 24 days of December before Christmas. I don't think I had drank any of their beers before, so it's a good opportunity to sample them. A cool idea to do this limited edition box.

The artwork on their cans is fantastic.

Nice idea, their beers are a bit of a mixed bag in terms of quality but then again that can be said of any brewery to be honest.
