@tim I must admit that I don't remember him at all. Is this signing a big loss for the Blues depth?

@stargazer Think this was his first year with the Auckland NPC squad, and unfortunately he didn't get to play.

EDIT: He's only 21, so not much experience! He was in the 2020 NZ U20 training squad. Looks like he got a game off the bench last year against Northland.

@tim He got one start against Canterbury last year too. He looked good in that game.

Shit, how old is Angela these days? I didn't want him in the ABs most of his AB career, but wouldn't have minded having him this year.

Can't remember whether this has been posted before. BOP's Dutchman Stan van der Hoven has signed with New England Free Jacks in the MLR.

Has Fatialofa recovered from his terrible injury ? When is he back in NZ ?
I reckon he could be a real contender for a spot in the ABs RWC squad, given the lack of options as far as locks are concerned.

@bayimports wondered why he disappeared to King Country then off the radar when he has such obvious potential. Good luck to him

Maybe RL is his preference. He's a strong, direct runner with deceptive speed so could be a handful.

Former Wellington Lions player Mateaki Kafatolu now has a short term gig at Castres ( https://new.in-24.com/sport/rugby/341542.html ) and is on the bench for them (as is also Jack Whetton) in this mornings game against Munster over in Limerick.

@mikey07 Maybe he was still up there after the 'Ikale Tahi tour had finished awaiting winning an MIQ spot and took up the offer to earn a bit of pocket money? Some teams are really struggling numbers wise with injuries and Covid19 playing havoc. For instance when Munster played Wasps in the European Championship last week there were something like 55 players unavailable for selection over the two squads.
