Don't get me wrong I appreciate the muscianship. I think it is the drumming that is wrecking it for me. Way too metronomic and machine like.
If they had a single drummer playing with some swing and groove behind that bass it would be awesome.
Maybe it appeals better to a generation of club music.

I quite like the simplicity of the drumming in this case as it compliments everything else.
