@rancid-schnitzel just looked it up and RotJ is 4ABY and mando is 9ABY so there is 5 years between him going into the pit and mando fighting fennec

So maybe he was with the Tuscan’s for years, might explain the change in character

Yeah it makes sense in terms of his change. Problem is that I didn't want to see that character. I wanted the bad ass "no disintegration" guy. No issue if he later has a character arc where he becomes a nice dude, but can I please see him rip shit up first.

He was pretty ruthless gunning down those bikers which I enjoyed

The Boba we know and love would have done that to the Sand People who enslaved him.

    Decent article here:

    John Saavedra  /  Jan 20, 2022

Can The Mandalorian Save The Book of Boba Fett?

Can The Mandalorian Save The Book of Boba Fett?

The Book of Boba Fett needs a lifeline, and the Mandalorian may be just the Star Wars character to save it.

    Short answer, yes.

Great seeing old mate back again although it was basically an episode of Mando…..I really liked it though.

It is almost like they realised when making BoBF that they had made a mistake by not setting up an action based story when he was re-introduced in Mando. The main reason people are pissed off with BoBF is that it has spent way too long edging toward it's own story while backgrounding Fett's. 10 minutes of a Mando episode could have included Fett telling Shand he has changed his view after escaping the Sarlacc (leave the detail to imagination) and spending years with the Sandpeople.

Last night they set up Mando 3. He has a new ship, he is ex-communicated, the Darksaber is not meshing with him (yet) and he wants to find Grogu to give him a gift. Possibly a trip to Mandor to find access to the mines? Ready to go at Ep1.

Man, they really have hit gold with Mandalorian. Everything just works, and probably scuppered the chance of setting up Fett to just be a Bounty Hunter.

Great ship porn, good action, entertaining AF.

    More please.

Surprised bo Katan let him leave that ship with the dark saver…let alone go about collecting bounties using it

I hear you, I think a Fett prequel may have worked better.

Then again, I can kind of see the character arc and where they’re trying to take him.

A little telling the best BoBF episode didn’t have boba in it

Hopefully he was away working on his speed work, rather than the weights, ahead of the upcoming showdown.

We've been watching Supernatural...well for years on and off because there's 15 seasons....but she is currently playing a big character in that...no helmet

another thing about mandos new ship...he looks a little silly flying a fighter in full body armour

I do love the fact he cut/burnt himself with the dark saber though, i've often thought lightsaber would be hard to fight with for these reasons, and when they dropped it it did stuff like burn the ground...its like theyve thought about it for the first time

weird it gets heavier the longer its used, i dont remember that from things like rebels

It's in the Clone Wars, the darksaber is harder to use than a lightsaber, a users thoughts help direct it's energy, etc

    Sorry, Rebels not Clone Wars;

"The appropriately-titled Star Wars Rebels season 3 episode "Trials of the Darksaber" shows Sabine Wren training with this tricky titular weapon for the very first time, while Kanan Jarrus acts as her instructor. Upon igniting, Sabine remarks on how the Darksaber feels "heavier than [she] thought," and Jarrus duly explains why. According to the runaway Jedi, the Darksaber is considerably harder to wield than your average lightsaber. Jarrus says, "Energy constantly flows through the crystal. You're not fighting with a simple blade as much as you are directing a current of power. Your thoughts, your actions, they become energy. They flow through the crystal as well, and become a part of the blade." In other words, someone who lacks control and acceptance over their thoughts and feelings - or those with an undisciplined fighting style - will find the Darksaber heavier to hold, as all of that inner baggage channels into the blade, weighing it down."

@kirwan i do vaguely remember that now, dont think it quite registered as being quite as drastic as we saw, with mando dragging it along the ground, should have known Filoni would know what he was doing with something like that

Just watching again, the Mandalorians are even more stubborn, resistant to change fuckwits than the Jedi were. No wonder both of them got wiped out. Din is better off without them.
