Very sad... shows you how talented he was as a writer having created jokes for the Two Ronnies, they were outstanding comedians too.
He was a regular for decades on I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue - one of the funniest shows you will ever hear - which involved a lot of improvisation. He was doing the improv stuff years before the likes of Steve Carell or Paul Merton made it became popular.
…. I think you’ll find that’s Mornington Crescent!

I remember an old timer years ago telling me "you know you're old when All Blacks and cops look like kids"
I think we're well past that transition 🙂For me it when Steve Hansen started to look young-ish
Christ you must be 200 years old

So this bloke died the other day apparently.
A genuine real life tough guy, contemporary of Bruce and Chuck back in the day.
Amazing stunt to take the full force of Bruces kick like he did at 2.26 ( apparently one of the guys catching him broke his arm but I reckon that’s Hollywood bullshit ). Anyway RIP Robert Wall.

I listened to this at the gym and at lunch today - 2 hours of Stuart Goldsmith interviewing Barry Cryer, about his life, and how he practices the art of comedy. Gold.

I will remember his finest episode
The less said about his earlier video nasty, the better!

One of the best episodes. The series as a whole was a who's who of English comedy for the next 10 years. French and Saunders, Hale and Pace, Smith and Jones, Lenny Henry. Emma Thompson even makes an appearance as one of the footlights kids, along with Stephen Fry. I don't recall Hugh Laurie getting any time. And more I'm sure I've forgotten. I have the dvds, might be time to revisit. But I wonder how the kids will see it?
