MP's next quick turnaround may be brutal.

MP defence has been atrocious, missed tackles might be their top stat? Don't think canes can take anything from this.

They almost just need to give up on a game. They should be able to beat plenty of the Australian teams and have an outside shot at the top 8.

Yeah, I think that the playing schedule has taken its toll on MP.

But unsurprising that the Canes get a big win when they select a record high number of Magpies. 😉

@duluth Wellington have only got O'Reilly left for NPC, with Thompson also on the move to Hawke's Bay and Coles and Aumua with the ABs.

Shit, I hadn't realised a new hooker had come on and thought you meant Kereru Symes. Was ready to have a meltdown.

Not sure Aumua will make it this year

@duluth Yeah, that could be right. I think it will be between him and Coles; and Coles depending on health.

After that first wobbly throw, Kereru-Symes had an excellent debut game. All other line-out throws were 🎯 and he scored a try. Pretty chuffed for him!

@duluth aye, he’s been very solid this year and his lineout throwing has improved. Defs a top three hooker in NZ. I guess it all depends if Coles is fit or not.

Take a sip every time the commentators say “experience”

They mention how someone has experience at every bloody moment even when “experience” doesn’t matter in that context. Hate cliches constantly hammered

A few performances stood out for me.

IWL created some much needed go forward at lock, awesome to see him back.

Morgan played well at first five, wouldn’t mind seeing him get a crack in the bigger games.

Goosen was threatening every time he touched the ball, mr consistent.

PUJ carried well and got us on the front foot many times. He just needs to work on cleaning up the little fumbles and defensive lapses that seem to be plaguing his game atm.

I was thinking he looked back to business but then realised MP were going the "tackling optional" method.

Hard for the guy to get back to his best when he only gets off the bench time in the big games (at best) and reps with the B team

Just too many in this game. Shame but this will ensure he has nil chance of replacing Proctor

Canes desperately needed those 5 points to stay in the mix, other than that we didn't get that much benefit out of the match... MPs lack of depth is really hurting them, they were very poor at the breakdown & awful at defending the rolling maul, at times they were ok at scrummaging.

When Canes get back to playing one match a week we should be looking to field our best team each week, play all our best combinations together, which will give us far better flow in our game, making the Canes much more of a threat.
