    https://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/super-rugby/300584510/crusaders-spread-far-and-wide-as-covid19-and-injuries-force-more-juggling

A few days after three new caps increased the number of players used this season to 45, the juggling of the roster has continued for a variety of reasons.

While captain Scott Barrett (suspension) and vice-captain Codie Taylor (rest) have joined the team in Australia’s capital, flanker Sione Havili Talitui has returned home for a scan on the hamstring he hurt early in last week’s demolition job of the Force.

Four players – Oli Jager, Mitchell Drummond, Zach Gallagher and Dominic Gardiner – have remained in Perth after contracting Covid-19 last week, and won’t be allowed to return to New Zealand until they return negative pre-departure tests, as per the country’s border rules.

More players could come and go in the coming days, too, assistant coach Scott Hansen said.

However, with Barrett back from suspension, Taylor back on deck after returning home for the birth of his third child, and the rested Jack Goodhue and Sevu Reece available, the Crusaders are in a position to name one of their strongest sides of the season on Wednesday.

    Game of the round.

If the Crusaders are back to their best they can nullify the Brumbies maul and win comfortably. However, ill discipline (feeding penalties), or a scrum that's off a bit and the Brumbies will be an outsiders chance.

TAB have Crusaders $1.57 favourites, which feels about right.

I think the brumbies are favourites, saders give a shit load of penalties away, esp in their own half, brumbies will score tries from them. Saders line out has been shaky

    ha ha ha ha ha,

Crusaders by 15-20. Seriously, stop the Brumbies maul, and they won't score 20. Crusaders will be way too good, particularly with Mo'unga out there.

Blackadder vs Valetini will be a great battle. Valetini set the physical tone for the Brumbies last week.

@nzzp not so sure the Crusaders will win by that much. I think it will come down to a few points and could go either way. The Crusaders aren’t the beast they have been in recent seasons but happy to be proven wrong as we can’t let the Aussies get too ahead of themselves.

@Chris you were very confident Gallagher was going to be available this week but the article suggests otherwise given he needs a negative Covid test before he can travel. Do you know something the writer of the article doesn't?

    Have faith.
My information then was he was expected to have received a negative test before departure yesterday, as he contracted Covid earlier than the others. But it looks like he failed that test Yesterday before departure.

    @Duluth
Hopefully, as captain, he feels more pressure not to get red carded for a reckless tackle.

It's a worry having Jackson on the bench. Gives an honest effort, but NPC seems to be his ceiling for now.

Jackson may not get much time on the field this game.
