Oh shit... I'm going to need to read all sorts of nerd-sites to remind me of what happened last season.
    And what it meant.

@Tim So after the first episode I said I would encourage my partner to watch as she hasn't read the books.

She loved it and is pissed Season 2 isn't being showed immediately.

By about ep 3 I was into it for its own and not comparing with the novels. I think it was very well done.

Yeah, Mrs M loved it as well having not heard about the books. Hard not to like a series with Kristen Scott-Thomas & Gary Oldman.

A light “dramedy” to watch with the partner is “10 Percent” (Amazon)
Based on the well reviewed French comedy it is about a small acting agency in London, the work and lives of those there.
I only got into it as lots of the show is filmed about one block from where I used to work in Fitzrovia. So much was instantly recognisable and the office is a couple of doors away from the pub I had farewell drinks at. So a bit of nostalgia for me.
Slightly Ted Lasso like. Really good characters and you get into their various stories easily.
Nothing brilliant but a well made watch.

    Loving it

Finally got around to watching Dexter; New Blood.

Started off slow for a couple of episodes, but started ramping up and by about ep 5 was bloody good, and I ended up bingeing eps 6-10...back to some of the better eps from S1 and 2.

However, like most series, and the finale of the Original Dexter series, was left a bit disappointed with the end.

Guess the issue is they will never satisfy everyone in ending a show, and while I enjoyed half of the final ep, the last 25 mins, I didnt think held up with the rest of this season...it kinda ended how I expected it too, but just not 'how' I thought it would end.

Ozark - just finished final episode.
    Titwatch: zero.
I was surprised by the ending - I watched the entire thing expecting nearly the exact opposite of the ending.
And if only for that - I'm gonna give it a pass.
    ##spoiler
I'm not entirely sold on whether the reason for that ending was artistic, or commercial.

I mentioned earlier that I didn't like the ending either.

    ##spoiler
Wendy dying in the car crash, and the consequences for the Byrde family from that, would have been much more interesting. In the end, showing the car crash scene at the start of the season was pointless.

    Just started Better Call Saul

Great show. Season 6 starts next week.

Is very good. Didn’t like season 5 so much but the 5 episodes of season 6 I’ve watched so far are great.

I have enjoyed the first two seasons. Of course, Ellen is now Elliot so there is a character change. But everything is strange in this show.

Almost completely forgotten S1, but remember it was a decent watch. S2 of Guilt seems excellent so far. Mark Bonnar just keeps getting better with age.

Guilt (TV Series 2019–2023) ⭐ 7.4 | Comedy, Crime, Drama

    The Lincoln Lawyer

Three episodes in and I’m pretty 50/50. The lead guy is pretty cool and Neve Campbell is still HAF…….but the whole “lawyer coming in at the last minute and winning the case with some brilliant insight that no one else could possibly see” schtick was done to death with Suits (which I somehow lasted three seasons) and there doesn’t seem to be an annoying but amusing dickhead character like Lewis in this one.

Also having been driven round in LA years ago (it is fucken massive) it pushes the bullshit needle to critical that he manages to get from one end of town to the other as quick as he does.

we've watched it over the last week or so, really liked it

We saw it not so much as brilliant last minute insight no one else had seen but rather scrambling to find what the previous lawyer had planned, also thought there were several joke about how long it would take to get from place to place rather than it being easy, isn;t that part of why he works out of his car...yeah he says he thinks better but also needs to get around

MN5: Do you want to watch the rest of Ozark ?

ThepotentialfuturemrsMN5: Hmmmm, not really….shall we wait til it pisses down one weekend and binge it ?

    MN5: ok

……still waiting for a downpour but not holding my breath. When a dickwad like Marty is easily the most likeable character ( or should I say least hateable ) it doesn’t speak volumes for a show that started out so well.

    Possibly a fair point.

I could be wrong but he got from somewhere to somewhere else in a ridiculously short amount of time ( was admittedly dozing a bit on the couch while watching ).

Also another gripe, as if that hot little blonde would be engaged to that fucken Sasquatch. Have a haircut and trim your beard you Munter.

It’s still compelling enough to keep watching so won’t give up on it just yet.

Started this last night and, while entertaining, it came across as "Goliath-lite" (well the first couple of seasons of Goliath before it went all weird)
Makes me wonder if Goliath was heavily influenced by the same book. Brilliant lawyer recovering from addiction. ex wives, teenage daughter, odd assortment of assistants, personality attached to a car.....

Good enough that I have delayed cancelling the 'Flix until I finish it
