    I think a better combo than Marty Banks!

    “It’s a pretty good idea having old Aaron Smith and Folau Fakatava as a 9 and 10 combo,” Hall said of the idea, which was initially floated by host Ross Karl.

    “We’ve seen it [TJ Perenara has played 10 for the Hurricanes and All Blacks] and I think nobody would have thought Gilbert was going to be able to play 10, with Hunty [Mitch Hunt] being there.

    “Would not be surprised if Tony Brown chucked out something, the two 9s playing 9 and 10.”

    Vilimoni Koroi a chance to start at No 10 for Highlanders in must-win match

    All Blacks Sevens star Vilimoni Koroi may be called upon to start at first-five for the Highlanders as their season goes on the line.

    @Machpants just want a result against the rebels, I would start with the fielding connection of Smith & Koroi , Fakatava & Banks to close out strong like they did against Drua & Reds.

    @Stargazer this really is one of the big things killing us, two of our three starting outside backs and one on the bench have been brought in as injury cover or from WTG

    @Stargazer never thought I would say this but if Gregory isn't listed as injured why isn't he left wing?

    He was described as a tractor in the game against the Reds. Now amongst my mates his nickname is Massey

    @FakatavaFuture im assuming he just needs a rest, i think he's played most games, may have also clicked he's a midfielder or not at all and TUJ/Timu works better

    I will be interested to see how LCF goes at fullback, as I think that could be his best position.

    @FakatavaFuture

    The outlook is better for Scott Gregory, who misses the Rebels game due to the flu but should be available next week.

    They read the fern! I suggested this before Gilbert got selected there.

    Tony Brown must be thinking there is no need for a first five anymore. Aye @Bones 😀

    @SouthernMann for a guy that has played NZ7s, he seems to have zero ability to beat a man, last year at least he had good leg drive and got the gain line while buying time for his support too, this year, bar maybe 1 or 2 games, he has offered buggar all going forward, and even his straight on defence has been suspect, again, somerhing that was a strength.
