Watching the white ferns cricket… NZ vs Eng I’m not sure I’ve seen a worse cricket match ever…. Usually they’re pretty good but holy fuck that was like under 5s level some of the stuff going on

@canefan 13 Gold still on course to beat our previous best whether that be 17 or 22 according to event inflation. Hopefully hold 3rd, England appear to have won a big haul. It is showing that New Zealand is a pretty well rounded sporting nation.

@Crucial Really hope she gets her medal, hopefully there is some kind of appeal. New Zealand now have 10 Gold and are Number 3, only being edged out by England with one more Gold. New Zealand did pretty well in the pool last night, must have given the Aussies a run for their money, really good effort by our swimmers. Have a good feeling we might overtake our previous best tally of 17 Gold and hoping we can overtake England,

With event inflation. Would actually need 22.35 golds to beat out-perform Auckland 1990 effort.

    280 events, compared to 213 in 1990.

Commonwealth Games: Chance to break NZ record on day 8

Commonwealth Games: Chance to break NZ record on day 8

The team need just one more gold medal to equal 1990's record haul.

Sorry ... silly question time ... but is there a bloke's T20 at the CG? And if not why not?

They're (the boards) too rich busy for it. Can't fit it in, if there is a 3 match T20I series some nations could be playing, somewhere, at that time.

There's also no ICC Womens T20 World Championship so this doesn't become a rehash of something almost identical.

Jamaica far too good for the Silver Ferns. 67 - 51.

What a smashing. I haven't watched much netball for while, but like rugby we appear to be struggling to rebuild our team

NZ thrashed by England in the women's T20 cricket so play Aust in the SF.

While I can't see anything but an eventual Gold/Silver final between Oz and England, I'd hoped we'd put up a better fight than the customary batting collapse.

Our former selector/coach apparently ending Amy Satterthwaite's international career comes back to haunt us on batting days like that...

Well I thought that would be the case... except England unexpectedly bowled pies to India. And then Nat Sciver led the English chase like she was anchoring a 1990's ODI, rather than a T20I knockout...

The cricket girls fielded well to restrict England. They need 111 to win the bronze

The girls are halfway there. 58-1 after just 5 overs. No need to take risks now

We lose another wicket after Plimmer guides a ball into the slips. I bet they wish Satherwaite was there to help Devine guide us home!

Risk with Bates bashing it straight down the fielder's throat is we only really have three batters that I trust to get this done safely. Now Plimmer has barely troubled the scorers, so Kerr joins Devine, and hopefully...

We have plenty of time. No need for these two to take risks. Just guide the ship home. Run rate is 3 per over

Yep, it's disturbing how much a "high performance"coach and a flea-brained selection panel can shoot a team in the foot sometimes...

Are we still talking about cricket?

All of the above... I think peak carnage would be Bob Carter joining Ian Foster as an Assistant Coach, and Emily 'we didnt miss Kasperek' Drumm joining as a selector...

Back to the game at hand. Despite that 3 an over required run rate, Kerr looks in a hurry.

Devine in a hurry, and the English bowlers struggling. NZ 86-2, 25 to get from 68 balls
