So Northland need to win this, beat Manawatu in Kaikohe and hope Ta$man loses to Hawkes

Pretty much.. we’ll be lucky to beat Manawatu the way we are self imploding. BOP 17+ easy in this one.

@bayimports haha yea useless Waikato 😉

    no disagreement there lol

Unless we get our mojo back, I see another 50 pointer on the cards, no matter who BOP run out this week...

Surely not? I didn't see last weekends game, but you were seriously in the fight in previous matches before that? Injuries? or just loss of form?

@bayimports complacency. Seemed like they got a bit far ahead of themselves after beating Auckland and took the foot off the pedal.

We might have a few sore bodies from the battle of the bays, I wouldn't be ruling Northland out of this, don't deny we would be favourites though. I am hoping for a win and we will have confidence but I am always weary of the taniwha clash.

@bayimports we do have a decent record against you fellas in general, and if our team from the first 5 rounds shows up I’d give us an even chance.. but seriously I think you can bank this one. We may scrap for 40-50 mins but we’ll inevitably drop off as we have the last few weeks.

The NPC record is pretty good:

However, no Northland wins for 5 years. No win in The Bay for 8 years

@Duluth I must have been imagining things, I thought we had a more recent one, but yeah in general pretty even.

@J77 given Ofa only had 20 or so minutes on Sat, I wonder if he will be released for this and/or the Manawatu game?

Assuming fitness and availability, I'd like to see:
    Adams, Moulds, Ofa
    Caird, Goodhue/Vaipulu
    Rush, McNamara, Matich
    Milo-Harris, Reihana
    Tua, Going
    Murray, Moorby, Anderson

BKP, CTC, Fono, KIng/Goodhue, Mau'u, Hape, Nankivell, Macilai

Not as much change I'd like TBH, plus I am not sure the likes of Vaipulu, King Nankivell & Hape are even fit still, been several weeks since last dev game, sure they likely been keeping gym fit...

I honestly dont see us having much shot at this, our shot at a top 4 spot all but gone, so we just need to go out and play some rugby

@taniwharugby nice to see you’ve removed all our problem children from that lineup. Someone with common sense for once!

Worth noting the unusual kickoff time for this midweek game - 4:05pm on Wednesday

Will go along... If I can find parking within a kilometre.

@taniwharugby I think Macalai has a lot to offer if we play the right game plan. Big if.

    team I have heard:

    Adams, BKP, Tu'ungafasi
    Goodhue, Caird
    Hallam-Eames, Matich, Mau'u
    MIlo-Harris, Reihana
    Going, Tua
    Macilai, Moorby, Leilua

Wright, O'Donnell, Puafisi, Matiu, Rush, Hape, Hawkins, Murray

Word I am hearing, depending on fitness for the final RR game, this may well be Wrights last run for Northland...hope our boys lift to give him a fine send off (much like when they lifted for Rangers hundy last year v Waikato)

Would that be Hallam-Eames first start in the loosies?

@Duluth as far as I can recall, although TBH I think last year I had suggested him at 6 with that locking duo as an option.

Almost like Konia following Fozzies blueprint 😆

Great to see Going finally get a start.

Not a bad side bar Leilua, but a good opportunity for some others. Great to see big Ofa back. Whilst not expecting to win I am expecting a much improved effort.

Be interesting to see what BOP does with their team now.

I think this will be almost a complete second string team on Wednesday for the Bay, maybe with some guns on the bench. Not through taking the game lightly but just to ensure the first XV is ready to roll for the next 2 or possibly 3/4 weekends. We do have some depth, especially in the pack so hopefully the team will be good enough.

Everyone will be hoping we don't finish top to avoid a potential home semi-final at Tga Domain not being able to be played at night.
