Gotta say while all QF’s have been close , the standard is way below what I expected don’t know if the officiating has been much better ..

Yeah, they've all felt like preseason games with the substandard handling across the board. I guess it's finals pressure. I think the refs have been tossing a coin for every decision.

    Was that pass forward?

Nice timing of the pass, he forced the defender to commit

@Nepia it looked forward, but you always look at where it comes from out of the hand and it looked ok ..

@Yeetyaah feel like I jinxed them , on saying that I reckon they have paid the price for kicking so much ball away in the first 60 minutes as well ..D-Mac the main culprit

I'm happy for DMac to be back up 10 for ABs and not play, so Perofeta gets some hands on time with XV. But he's not been great at all this season, a bit like Beaudy

Congratulations to Bop great bounce back after last weekend result , must admit didn’t see that one coming ,all the best for the SF’s ..
Commiserations to last years champs Waikato have enjoyed some of the rugby they have played this year ,
Cook Savage and Sinkinson look like really good prospects for the future ,thought they missed Finau in the back row .
Not to sure how Waikato supporters would view this season but for me I would be disappointed checking out in a home QF .

Ahh great victory, pretty even match to be honest and those late tries made the gap bigger ..only fitting Waikato evened it at the end. Thought McWhannell in beast mode was going to kill us.

Hopefully injuries are not too major. Great effort from a lot of our forwards playing big minutes today too

D Mac fanboy club will probably work overtime on getting him into the ABs but Im seriously underwhelmed by his inconsistency.

@Steven-Harris yeah I'm pretty disappointed. Bright side is I'm away during the grand final so couldn't watch it so now I don't have to worry about missing it idk

From my point of view, neither backline looked overly commanding and not really a standout but happy to see him back on the field, he will only get better with each game. Others may have been watching him more closely but I thought he went ok in his minutes without being outstanding

The Waikato forwards got outmuscled in the 2nd half and gave up too many turnovers. Combine that with some loose passes and game over.

But fuck me, the forward passes let go by the officials are a joke. If I can see them from my seat why can't the ARs and ref?

I never thought Waikato reached the heights of last year so wasn't expecting the season to last any more than another week.

I thought he looked good and was relieved when he went off. He ran straight and in the 2nd half there was a lot of Waikato hot potato which was mainly DMac's fault as the 10.

Just home after a horrid return trip in very busy traffic. Just hope that BOP can pull it all out against Canterbury next week.

Leroy Carter was immense today. I felt his fierce attitude inspired his team mates a lot, and made the difference. Sangster had one of those days where every time he was a bit away from where he should have been, the ball came to him. Naitoa Ah Kuoi had a fantastic game and Ross went well too. BOP forwards earned the win.

Thought the up and unders from Waikato would win them the day after BOP shaky in that area this season. Sinkinson had a huge game on the chase - but it did not yield points... McWhannell was the other huge performer today, and Luke Jacobson ran and tackled strongly. ALB looked strong as he got into his work.

Notwithstanding all that, the talk in the stands was about the inconsistent officiating. If the knock-ons, illegal plays and forward passes were visible to us, then they were to the TJ also... Beyond that, application of the advantage law was the biggest frustration.

Is Leroy Carter primarily a wing or is he a midfielder playing on the wing? I am hoping it's the latter.
