Yeah - my hot take is that Little Kane's going to be a liability at the T20 World Cup unless he takes a markedly more risky approach to his batting.
We're going to need a shitload of luck to win the thing, and that involves people like Allen, Conway, Phillips and Neesham making quick runs and decent scores against the big guns.
We might be best to field a team somewhat like today's with instructions to Guptill to play his shots.
We might as crash out with guns blazing from the word go.

This is without a doubt THE most unheralded cricket tournament in NZs history. If it wasn’t for the fern I’d have no idea it was even on.

This is without a doubt THE most unheralded cricket tournament in NZs history. If it wasn’t for the fern I’d have no idea it was even on.
Santner's considered high quality in the shorter forms and Sodhi has been ranked number 1 in the world so not sure you can call them journeymen.
Maybe NZ cricket needs some better marketing because it's pretty awesome that we have tri series happening in one location over the space of the week.

Yeah a bit of a smartarse comment, fully aware of their qualities in the shorter forms of the game. As long as they stay away from the five day game its ok with me.
One thing our nation does very well is produce bits and pieces cricketers and we’re lucky there is a format that suits them so well.
....but, look at those clowns at the end who manage to score two runs off the final 8 balls!!!
