cut back on bread then if its possible. I still have 1 or 2 bits a week.

And spuds too....they pretty much just a filler. Replace with water.

Assume you dont drink a lot of juices?

Your assumption is correctemondo. I like sparkling water with a splash of lemon or lime. Not particularly inclined to drink this during winter though. Also can't function without at least one black coffee a day.

I agree with JK, cut out bread completely, sugar, rice, pasta, and beer....perhaps a little nibble. That's a massive start. Then no chicken skin, and no animal fats whenever you eat protein.

On top of that, aim for vege juice for dinner. instead of a real meal.

and, aim to be hungry a lot....being hungry is good...

Plus do some HIT type of repeats for cardio to use up energy, especially late afternoon or evening...5-10 hill sprints.

Then there's pull ups and dips because they build a good shape and real strength.

Good luck.

Morning walk was better today than yesterday cos of the fact it wasn't pissing with rain. Even this early on it's getting easier to get up the hill. Shortcut to get home across the field sucked on account of how fucken muddy it was and having to walk like an old man to avoid not slipping over. Stopped and did a max set of chins on the soccer goalposts, 17, so thrilled with that. Did a set to failure every minute after that, probably got through about 35-40 in total.

Have an APA and an IPA ( 2 x 750 mls ) in the fridge ready for tonight. Rest ( about 30 bottles ) are stored in a hard to reach area of the garage, mind you the temperature out there at the moment I don't even need a fridge. Anyway I intend to enjoy the two tonight then not touch them again til August.

I've never done anything like this with the old drinking so wish me luck fellas, some of you are mates on FB, I'm not mentioning this on there until it's over cos people will tear the living shit out of me and tell me I can't do it.

have your beer as your 'powerade' after a workout.

download the HIIT app...is a great app, a good workout gets the heart pumping. Is a due on FB I follow as he does some great workouts for the app, only problem is he also likes putting up pictures of himself in flexed poses...

My core one is box jumps, press ups, either a shoulder press or ez bar curls and finish with mountain climbers; 20 sec workout, 10 sec rest, 6 rounds, takes about 12 mins.

I'm finding myself doing lots of plyometric type stuff which is great. Charles Bronson ( prisoner, not actor although he was jacked as fuck too ) wrote a book on workouts he did while in solitary confinement so there's no reason not to turn into a bit of a machine if you have the inclination.

I do the old Broad jumps which are a great all over conditioning workout if done correctly. You can definitely get more distance if you swing the arms to launch properly.

Getting my boys to do stuff is very much a day by day basis. Constant lightsabre fights with eachother counts as exercise though right ?

Charles Bronson once lost it in jail a hostage situation, ended up throwing a large fridge full of food up (I stress up) a flight of stairs. So maybe there is something in his workouts.

That's a good one. How many reps/jumps of each exercise.

is just time...so you dont count reps (although you do)

First set I can usually do 13/14 jumps, 16/17 push ups, 40/45 mountain climbers and about 15 reps of whatever other exercise...4th and 5th sets are usually a few less but last set you always pick it up again

20sec work, 10 sec rest

Cool. How do you monitor/reset the time? Is that a bit of a pain in the butt?

it beeps for the last 3 seconds of the 20 and says rest...then beeps 3 seconds before your 20 starts again and says go.

The Android app seems better than the iApp I found for the iPad (installed 3 before I foind an ok one)...plenty of different ones.

Some have fixed times, sets and breaks, but this one you can change the length of workout, rest and how many sets.

this is the one I use

One thing I'm gonna add to the workout routine, rope climbing without using legs. There's a good one round the bay in Seatoun which I'll use. Hard to beat the functional strength you get from doing that and when I'm 98-99kg I'll be scaling it like Spiderman !
