1899
From the people that brought you Dark on Netflix. Three episodes in and it's slow so far, but I like these type of mysteries.
Edit - it might help if I give some concept of a plot. Shipping company loses passenger liner for four months. Another of their ships finds it, devoid of passengers. Strange shit happens.
Don't think I'd last too long with 1899 (didn't like Dark). Looks like a bunch of tropes sticky-taped together.
Ghost ship, secret codes, evil silent oriental chick, Jimi Hendrix song for the hardcore moments. -
@Kiwiwomble Pretty much a European cast in the show. Beatrice was my favourite character. The actress is Finnish-New Zealander.

So I finished A Friend of the Family.
Really good, done in a quirky way but what a fucking frustrating, infuriating and ghastly tale.
Might not be so good to watch if you're a parent...
Based on true events, it follows Robert Berchtold, a close friend of the Broberg family, who kidnaps Jan Broberg twice over a period of two years.

I'm all in
I've heard the ads for this, got excited, saw that it's made by the Yellowstone guy, got unexcited.
I might give the pilot a watch though.
First ep was good enough for me to try the second. Will take it as it goes.

The English (on Prime)
With Emily Blunt as the lead, who is an aristocratic Englishwoman in the wild west searching for the man she feels is responsible for the death of her son.
Not an action packed series (6 eps) but just moves along at a steady pace, pretty good series though, and doesnt end as you think it might early on.

@taniwharugby yeah I almost switched it off halfway through the intro! Stuck it out and happy I did! Has a bit of a Hell on Wheels feel about it (only one episode in).

Wednesday - Addams Family spinoff on Netflix.
Fun with plenty of dark humour with a touch of normality. Just hope it doesn't get too normal.

Will watch.
Did watch. Different to what I expected, but even better. Have to say Rafe Spall stole the show IMO.

Ok so got 6 months free Apple TV. Have started on Lasso and not hugely convinced I have to say.
What else is worth a look?
Bad Sisters
Slow Horses
Blackbird
The Morning Show
Suspicion
The Velvet Underground
Beastie Boys Story -
@Bones , and if you are looking for something to watch with Bonesetta, 'Acupulco' is a light hearted rom-com type show that is a bit of a guilty pleasure. Nothing ground breaking but well made with easy to watch short episodes. Potentially brownie point material if she likes that kind of thing.
