<p>Having players like Horne there hasn't won them the Bledisloe though has it. You can't continue using a losing formula because you will keep getting the same result. They need someone with a bit more horsepower than "a safe player" like Horne. Number 11 is meant to be for a winger who has pure gas (Mitchell/Joe Roks) or the size to run over people (Jonah, Julian), not for someone like Horne who is only limited to what he can do on the international stage.</p>

<p>Personally I would like to see the Reds Centre - Samu Kerevi get a run there but I don't think Cheika is gutsy enough to try anything different.</p> -

<p>You obviously didn't get the point that I was trying to make there. The Wallabies need to change what they have done in the past, therefore they can't keep picking mediocre international players like Horne on the wing because they will keep getting the same result.</p>

<p>As an All Blacks fan I hope they do as I love seeing Aussie lose in any sport. But for the good of the International game the Wallabies need to be better than what they are and they need to be more innovative in their selections. </p>

<p>A player like Horne is too predictable, all I am trying to say is they need to make changes i.e. Folau to Centre and maybe Kerevi to the left wing to keep teams like the All Blacks on notice.</p>

<p>If they continue selecting players like Horne then I'm afraid their trophy cabinet will remain empty for a few more years to come.</p> -

<p>Aussies are hardly full of 'safe' players, sometimes you need 'safe' players...you pretty much said as much in the thread about the Blues backline probably not being ideal with BB.</p> -

<p>Aussies are hardly full of 'safe' players, sometimes you need 'safe' players...you pretty much said as much in the thread about the Blues backline probably not being ideal with BB.</p>

<p>The Wallabies are the total opposite of the Blues of 2017 though IMO. They have enough steady players in the form of Foley, Halett-Petty, Toomua and Ashley Cooper. Horne is probably a steady player too many. They need a bit of x factor to finish what those safe/smart players create.</p>

<p>The Blues on the other hand have too many x factor players i.e. Having danger men like Moala, Ranger, SBW and Ioane in your back-line would suggest that you would probably need someone like Foley or Toomua at first five just to calm things down and control the direction of the side a bit more.</p>

<p>This is where the All Blacks have been excellent over the last few seasons. They have balanced their back-line superbly with reliable players like the 3 Smith's, Cruden, Carter etc with firepower/x factor like Savea, Nonu, Skudder, Nahalo, Barrett etc who have been able to cut up anyone in their path on a regular basis.</p>

<p>If the Wallabies and Blues get their balance of their back-lines right then they will both be a handful for whoever they come up against. </p>
