The other obvious test is Rambo or Rocky. It was Rambo for me.
Pretty incredible that Sly was able to front 2 massive franchises at the same time. Rocky all the way for me.
In terms of the definitive portrayal how about Batman?
West, Keaton, Kilmer, Clooney, Bale, Affleck or Patterson?Bale. To me absolutely nailed the charisma/presence/physicality/charm……he was Batman. Keaton was surprisingly decent as was Kilmer. West was terrific fun in a different way. The rest were fucken awful

@canefan dr who is an interesting one, if youre into it then yeah you have "your" one....but i just went back to look and some of the Dr's has really short runs, only a couple of years...tom baker the longest i think
During my childhood Baker was the best. I remember watching reruns of Pertwee but he was better known to me as Worsel Gummidge. All the rest were meh and then I'd moved on

I didn't realise the actress that played Adrienne also played Tony Corleone's sister
And is Francis Ford Coppola's actual sister ...
Also, the nondescript dude who wore the cricket jumper was the first iconic Dr Who for me as the only episodes I remember before that were the 1960s black and white episodes and I was watching for the army dudes more than the Dr.

Tom Baker was the Doctor the last time I regularly watched the show. Maybe I saw some episodes with Peter Davison after that.

@dogmeat yeah, even though i watched a few of the others as a kid, i was young and so David tennant is the one that i first really remember watching....he got some really good stories, "Bad Wolf" and its subtle series long arc or "blink" being obvious examples
