I wonder what the outcome would have been if Peyper had blown up quickly for the knock on?

Same ref. Similar incident. Different outcome.

As an aside, and it has been noted in other forums and on social media.

The Irish team have taken holding their heads and staying down to get stuff looked at to a new level. This is not a dig at Keenan during his incident by the way.

They are also audibly heard calling for a red for Steward. That carryon should be kept on soccer pitches.

Sexton has a bit of the Andrew Hore inspired “ are we not allowed tackle Dan Carter” about him these days. Any contact after he has passed the ball necessitates arm waving and sulking. Super player but doesn’t want anyone be allowed touch him.

I know everyone hates you when you are winning but they are becoming a thoroughly un-likeable bunch.

Perhaps the outrage and indignation about this RC may encourage NH teams to advocate for the 20 min RC.

That aside, as a defender you place yourself in postitions where you need to make good decisions. Steward didn't and he owes the person he's about to shoulder charge better execution.

I see no difference between this and SBW's RC.

Becoming? Their soccer theatrics have been an issue for a long time now. I fervently hope that it all comes to bite them in the arse at the worst possible time. Preferably a quarter final.

I hate their sort of theatrical BS as much as I hate itoje's woopin' and hollerin'. One of the least likable teams I've come across.

Ten years ago that would have been seen as a nothing incident, play on. The game's only got itself to play for the boring farce it's becoming.

I did raise an eyebrow when Jaco said to Steward "you've had a clear line of sight the whole way into the contact".

The inverse concession wasnt made by Peyper when sending off Ta'avao who hit Ringrose off a reverse pass side stepping into contact.

Tries to avoid hitting him, hands down, turning away.

What's better, opening his body up and carrying on with the tackle, or even at least starting to drop - or turning your body and tucking the arm so that your nice, soft elbow/shoulder is pointed at the opposition player? I can't think of much worse he could have done.

I reckon I know which Keenan's face would have preferred.

Players need to stop having a first instinct to throw out the shoulder charge if they get caught out and can't control the collision.

Take a look at Penaud's effort from yesterday. Used to like him, but yesterday's theatrics made Sevu Reece look like a pretender.

Kaino won two world cups and he is face palming the decision.

Did he actually clarify that? The tweet you posted was him saying red card, with a face palm, wasn't it?

How do you know he's not facepalming at Steward's act?

Perhaps the outrage and indignation about this RC may encourage NH teams to advocate for the 20 min RC.

That aside, as a defender you place yourself in postitions where you need to make good decisions. Steward didn't and he owes the person he's about to shoulder charge better execution.

I see no difference between this and SBW's RC.

    “About to shoulder charge..” 😂

I’ve got no issue with the red card, letter of the law and all that, but that level of hyperbole is laughable and does nothing in trying to make sense of where we are and where we’re going in this contentious issue.

The black and white-ness with which it is being discussed from some quarters is contrarian, disingenuous or I suspect downright rancid bait.

You might want to just take some time for reflection eh, that's tasty rich from the guy who agrees Steward pulled out.

I'd suggest if that's your pull out game, you might wanna check for unknown offspring.
