Good win and great to get Will Jordan back on deck. We have a reasonably good run home with not a lot of travel. A few players coming back has helped. What is the story on George Bell and Fletcher Newell, are they likely to be back?

@SBW1 did the reviewer watch the match? Grace was not that good. Thought Moody very good. Did not see Brewis at all. Don't know how he got his rating. Did Mounga really only miss two kicks? Who took the others? Perhaps I missed stuff too.

I thought Grace did his job. What did he do wrong?

It would be correct if you didn't see Brewis at all, as he didn't play. How that Rugbypass writer missed that? 🤦🏽♂

Brewis was ruled out of the game and was replaced on the bench by debutant Andrew Turner, who made a good impression in his first SR game.

I think the only thing we'll learn from this fixture is Cron made an error taking the Force coaching role.

I think a Super Rugby head coaching role was the logical and obvious decision for Simon Cron. He took over the Force when they were at a low level and any improvement will enhance his future prospects.

The threat Will Jordan offers is almost night and day to Fergus Burke - drawing defenders and opening gaps.

I like Ferg, but he is a natural 1st 5 and I don’t think will reach great heights as a fullback option.

The other great thing about Will is that he’s robust in the tackle too. He’s harder to put to ground than Ferg. Was great just seeing him out there again.

Yeah - Will's got more size than Ferg and elite speed. Makes a massive difference.

Ferg is like playing Colin Slade at wing, but a bit worse. 🙂

I never got around to posting this last time I was involved in the weight discussions, but TJ's assessment is bang on - IMO of course!! 🙂

'Came of age in that third quarter': Will Jordan earns Foster's trust

All Black flyer Will Jordan continued his blistering try-scoring pace in Cardiff, coming up with a stunning long-range individual effort to break the game open against Wales with a little over a quarter of the game to go.

For me Fergus Burke did a great job with no real experience in that position for the Crusaders and got us through a bit of a crisis.
Now Will is back Burke can go back to cover First Five and hopefully gets some game time there as he will fill the No.1 First Five spot in 2024.

Leave out the word 'great' and I agree with you.

Considering the injuries around Burke lack of playing at FB I reckon he saved our arse a bit we were left with Fihaki as the other option.

Agree 100%. He did the job and didn't stuff it up.

@Chris-B Fozzy sees Jordan as probably our key attacking weapon, probably why he has been rested so much.

I believe this post earns a "Turn it up!"

Quite a few other attacking options in that AB backline.

@Kirwan I can understand that his defence maybe be the most questionable aspect of his game, in terms of pure gamebreaking ability, he is pretty much unsurpassed. It was a very tactical decision to rest him for so much of last season, in particular the EOYT. Had he toured we would probably have gone through unbeaten and had a target on our heads. The only reason he hasn't been up for player of the year is purely based on timing. Dude is an absolute weapon. Also nice to see him assisting Macca's development, who also looks promising.

We did go through EOYT unbeaten. Didn't lose.

Jordan had Covid which is why he missed Ireland test 1 and then an inner ear issue forced him to miss the End of Year tour (and hasn't played until last week). In what world is that tactical?

@KiwiMurph I wasn't referring to the Irish test however that still confirms my view on timing is the only reason he hasn't won a player of the year award. Technically we may have gone through unbeaten, that draw against England really would have put a dampener on the tour, it would be foolish to say otherwise.

@SBW1 So what was tactical about Jordan missing the EOYT? Fozzie would rather go under the radar than play Jordan?

Presumably Crusaders have been in on this tactical rest plan too whilst losing to the Chiefs twice without Jordan?

My head is spinning trying to keep up with this.
