105km though... that's awesome.Depressingly those signs are often accompanied by an 80km/h sign or worse, a 60km/h sign nowadays.

Long, 160m ride on Sunday up thru Dartmoor (Hound of the Baskervilles territory), up and along the Atlantic coast to Truro and back home as the sun went down. One of those magical rides we never seem to have enough of.

This is what a need to impress on my brother when he takes me for a short pushbike ride.

The crankshaft on the Royal Enfield went after only 8,000 miles from new, 6yrs old so out of warranty moral of the story is bikes manufactured in Chennai don't do well on UK roads in winter.
Gave me an excuse to upgrade to a Triumph Bonneville Street Twin. So much smoother with a ton more power, am loving it.

Anyone with experience of classic motorcycles and people after a quick buck will understand.

Hazards of the English countryside.
Ambling around the back roads of Devon and turned sharp left into a country carpark - only to hit a cattle grid with 30cm between the railings. Managed to stop just in time. Arseholes.

Just finished a trip in Vietnam/Laos - riding parts of the Ho-Chi-Minh Trail.
- Some videos on YouTube - they get better edited later in the trip/playlist - as I remember/learn how to use GoPro Studio over the two weeks
- Was an organised trip by Cu'o'ngs Motorbike Adventures - can't recommend highly enough... staff going above and beyond, even coping with this one fat kiwi idiot who'd never really ridden trail before.
- Much, much harder than I expected, but I got through it, with only 5 flat-tyres (of the group's 12 total); and about 7 or 8 offs - all at 0km/h - just fucking up attempted restarts.

First ride of the year...feeling blessed
Access to the outside world for us since December has been either via a steep, algae-clad road with water running down it or a pot-holed ford with water 60cm deep - neither remotely safe on 2 wheels.

Living in Qld I almost have the opposite problem. The winter is the best time for riding. Normally cloudless settled weather with a slight chill. Perfect for riding. The summer can be too hot to ride for whimpy old me.

We've had 700mm of rain so far this year.... Spring and Autumn are my favourite riding times. Like you, a slight chill makes for the perfect ride.
