Also watched the True Blood series, which I found I enjoyed, although the 2nd series dragged out a bit.<br />

Also, just finished watching the 4th series of Dexter, after a slow start and deviating from the format that made the show, the last 5 episodes were excellent, really intense, John Lithgow as Dexter's nemesis of sorts was superb. <br />

with a very surprising, and in alot of ways, disappointing end, although I understand why, given this being a part of the reason it started slow IMO. -

Have been watching odd episodes of The Mentalist to pass the time, which is quite entertaining at times, pretty light-hearted.<br />

Has anyone seen Flashforward? I watched the first 10 episodes of Series 1 and quite enjoyed it. Decided to buy the book......nothing like the TV series at all, apart from being based on the same basic premise and having one or two characters of the same name. -

I thinkThe Mentalist' is one of the best shows on at the moment. Lighthearted (love the deadpan-Korean guy) but has that darker storyline woven through it. I believeRed John' features a bit more in other series. I'm definately looking forward to its return. I think Simon Baker (Aussie actor) is cool too. Fiennes character can be a bit grating in a Horatio Kane kinda way, but it's a good watch. Yeah the book is of the same name. -

isnt that flash forward soemthing to do with the Lost team? I steer clear of anything that uses Lost as a reason to watch it! <br />

Yeah I like the Mentalist too, as you say, light hearted but with the darker story running trhough, and for the most part, most of how he solves things is explainable, not merely just he thinks it, and basically outwits them to get the answer.<br />

As for Horatio Caine...the looks, the turn of the shoulder to look into the distance while explaining to someone they are busted....oh, and the Hummer for the Police vehicles? C'mon!! <br />

Tim; on Dexter, yeah I think the whole family thing is what has ruined it IMO, deviates his character away from what made him. Given his meticulous attention to detail, seeing him make all these elementary errors detracts form the show, so while ridding the show of one of the reasons he has been distracted, while appropriate, seemed pointless.<br />
<br />
Will still watch it if another series is made, as I still like it, but not with the enthusiasm I used to.
