If we lost to Italy to go out at the Group stage then quite frankly the outrage in NZ should make '99 look like a disgruntled letter to the editor.

Don't spit on racehorses though, that's not cool

It won't though, cos none of us will be surprised

You do realise we're only playing Italy?

Yup, I remember saying that about Argentina, who had been in Covid lock down for a year with no rugby. No chance...

    ...until Foster

But Argentina had been competitive occasionally. The closest Italy have ever come was Stuart Dickinson showing the world he was blind.

    You have FDS.

@Machpants yeah if they beat us, dollars to donuts they won't play the game of their lives. It'll just be a case of the ABs having another implosion.

Fuck sake, we give a 14 penalties and a red card versus fucking Namibia. It is totally possible for Foster's Fuckwits to further fuck up what was a fantastic legacy

But,...we surely haven't fallen so far as to lose to Italy. It's a bit too panicky to be seriously concerned about that.

    Oh to be innocent again.

    Gone for the 45+ drubbing

Uruguay showed how to smash Italy yesterday

Unfortunately it was only for 10 mins

I’m nervous about this game. Until three years ago I’d never believe that the All Blacks could lose a World Cup game against Italy, but the Foster era has been special but not in a good way.

i fuckin would be! It's fucking Italy!

I would want serious recriminations! Sacked assistants. Players looking at whether they have a job next year. I want blood dammit

Fozzie would do well to book himself on a continuous series of Contiki tours around Europe. After about five years the clamour might have died down enough that he could come home heavily disguised.

Would have to be the most disgraceful defeat - by a decent margin.

I’m not sure which disguise would work for Foster? Mr Creosote?

Why travel around Europe when he could stay rent free in a giant mansion in Como that I’m sure the Italian government will gift him….

The object of a disguise is to change your appearance.

Not to put panic in the ranks, but we need to beat these Italians convincingly - no bonus points given and here's why.

Right now, half our team are probably thinking a win is good enough and will realize after the game because - " I don't pay to much attention to the table and stuff like that, I'm just here to play footy!"

This is about prepping for Ireland.

Assuming everyone except De Groot available then:

    Ofa/Taylor/Lomax/BBBR/Big Sam/Cane/Scooter/Savea/Nuggie/Richie/Jordie/Rieko/Clarke/Jordan/Beaudie

    Bench:

    Tamaiti/Sami/Nepo/Frizell/Ethan (B)/Roigard/DMac/ALB

Want to give Caleb a crack at 11. Last bench spot tricky, because our midfield isn't that interchangeable. Quite like the idea of Telea as a super sub.

Once Frizell has some miles under belt he can start against Uruguay. Which will mean a toss up at LH lock.

@pakman How is Clarke deserving at all over Telea? He isn't even deserving over Leicester.

We need a revolution. The same isn't going to work. Caleb is so off the pace it isn't funny. Cane and BB need to have gone 2 years ago.

Leicester will be vulnerable against the Irish. Do or die for Clarke. If don't fire Telea in for Uruguay.

Third back reserve needs to cover 12 or 13, and preferably both.
