@MiketheSnow Yes feel for you mate. We constantly shoot ourselves in the foot with the reffing teams. Just a complete and utter lottery. Those decisions could have gone either way. Dire from Jonker, Dickson.

I’ve literally no idea what the ref is going to give anymore. That could have been red, in the end not even a penalty. Weird

It was the decision I'd like to see in a game - no intent. But in the context of how things have been reffed it was mind-boggling.

If something has changed, why haven't we, the punters, been told? Have the players?

@Victor-Meldrew same thing happened in 2019. Card lottery in the pools, then refs lost their cards in the knockout rounds.

Jonker: "I need to show you foul play by blue" - ref looks at it and says "no foul play, you agree with me?" - "yes, just felt it was important to show the process"

    Another Marius Wonker classic

All we ask for is consistency around the issuing of cards. I bet we don't get it across the other QFs.

If I drive my car at 100 through a school crossing but try to avoid the kids, that's ok because I didn't intend to hit them, right?

Agree with Dickson there. Player was held up, he came in legally. ‘Tina player saw it coming and pulled it down leaving Tompkins in the way.

I think a better analogy might driving at 30mph near a school crossing expecting to be nicked as you think the speed limit is 20mph, as no-one told you the speed limit had been raised to 30mph.

Player came in out of control, at chest height, unsighted, at speed to a breakdown, with people are typically bent to chest height or lower.

Just have some fucking restraint and use your brain.

@Bones It wasn’t really a breakdown yet though. Tina player wasn’t on the deck, he caused the drop in height late doors when he got off the train tracks. I was very surprised to see the outcome though.

    @game_film

I'm with you on this. Just. Just, about the right decision but a long way away from any degree of consistency.

My view on the game itself was that it was the Argy breakdown and the Welsh discipline that determined the outcome.

The difference has been the relative impact from the reserves.

The difference was Dickson and Jonker

    Fuck that

    Have another look

He came at pace, from depth, and hit Tompkins square in the head with a leading shoulder

How can an independent official order Tompkins off for an HIA and the officiating team not even award a penalty?

We get at least a penalty and Argentina don’t score the try

Losing Tompkins for 10 mins killed our backline

That poor kid. He's going to get his arse kicked from china to LA by Biggar.

Between Biggar limping and retiring after this game, maybe he'll be fine...
