The Invention of Lying; Ricky Gervais, Jennifer Garner, the young fat guy from superbad, Rob Lowe

Gervais lives in a world where there is no lying, people always say the truth, until one day when in the bank and thier computers are down, he wants to withdraw all his money, and they ask him how much he has in his account.....

started off quite well, loads of amusing little chuckles, got a bit lame in the middle before getting back to some chuckles at the end.

6.5/10

Saw Precious. An incredibly hard movie to watch. Similar to Once Were Warriors in that sense. A little clumsy in places but well acted across the board, though the use of Lenny Kravitz as a male nures was a little "look at who in my movie". He doesn't really add to much. Positive male figure for sure but a bit stereotypical.

Not a lot to come away with feeling good about but still the performances are outstanding from the 2 main stars.

Saw Paranormal Activity. All the teeny boppers were scared by it but I thought the film took so many long pauses that it simply became comical. 5/10.

Didn't help it was trumped by the greatest movie trailer of all time:
Daybreakers, yet another Vampire movie.

Ethan Hawke, Willem Dafoe, Sam Neill, Isabell Lucas (hot decepticon from Transformers, ROTF) and the big name, Jay Laga'aia

Not a bad film, 6.5, but is interesting seeing all the new Vampire films come out and each having new takes on Vampires too (ie what they can and cant do, what kills them etc)

I read that the set up and world building in this movie are pretty interesting, but the plotting doesn't really deliver much. Accurate?

the plot of the movie is ok; set in the future where Vampires are the dominant species and humans are nearing extinction and therefore a blood shortage, so some rogue vampires are turning on one another, causing changes to them...

It just meanders along without really getting going.

well vampires books and movies have been similar for centuries, but in recent time a new phenomenom has arisen, and now people just make sh!t up, what are we to think? I mean if I am out one night and come across a vampire, I wont know how to deal with them!!

Jesus the SUN means nothing these days! It makes them sparkle like pretty diamonds....

Watched THE BLINDSIDE a true story about a very wealthy white Memphis family who adopt a homeless black kid. He turns out to be a football star.

Pretty watchable and a very good performance from Sandra Bullock. Feel good fluff!

Heard some disturbing press about how the real family saw this kid as a meal ticket but sounds like a bit of BS to me. They own nearly 100 kfcs & taco bells.

I think he plays for the Baltimore Ravens. A big bugger too.

Watched 3:10 to Yuma. Never saw the original one but the remake is pretty good. Russell Crowe plays a likeable bad guy and Christian Bale plays a good guy who isn't really a hero.
The second-in-command of Crowe's gang steals the show and the final shoot out makes for a good ending.

8/10

watched 'A Serious Man' which is a Coen Brothers film, I normally like thier stuff, but sadly this one was a let down, kinda meandered along, disappointing. 5/10
