I think he plays for the Baltimore Ravens. A big bugger too.

Watched 3:10 to Yuma. Never saw the original one but the remake is pretty good. Russell Crowe plays a likeable bad guy and Christian Bale plays a good guy who isn't really a hero.
The second-in-command of Crowe's gang steals the show and the final shoot out makes for a good ending.

8/10

Apologies if already posted but saw the Girl With The Dragon Tattoo today and really enjoyed it. Suspense/Thriller/Murder Mystery/Cold Case. Swedish so avoid if youi can't handle sub-titles but really really enjoyable for what it is. Maybe not one to take in-laws to. Pretty graphic sadism and a harrowing rape scene.

Also not for you if you can't handle seeing the rape victim get her own back by ass fucking her tormentor with a 6 inch dildo till he cries like a baby. Me I cheered

I love all Sandra Bullock's movies - serious and comedy.

I read somewhere that she's in the nod' for an Oscar for The Proposal'. There's been so much hype over Avatar' that this and a couple of other movies have gone under the public radar.

The race/competition between ex-husband and wife directors of Avatar' and The Hurt Locker' looks interesting. Cameron's ex-wife's movie The Hurt Locker' has picked up 6 Baftas so the Oscars will be interesting because all we keep hearing is Avatar, Avatar, Avatar in the media.

The nod is not for the Proposal - it's for the other one mentioned above - The Blindside.

I know I read that Sandra Bullock is up for an award. I thought it was The Proposal. Thanks for correcting me. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt='B)' />

Saw Percy Jackson and the Lightening Thief last week...it was crap. Special effects were okay but the lame story line and the lead chicks acting were both terrible. And saw From Paris With Love yesterday....am having a bad run at the movies 'cos this one was crap too. Rhys whatever his name is can't act for shit, he's a poser. Am looking forward to the Clash of the Titans though, looks good.

The kids really liked Percy Jackson. I thought it wasn't too bad - as far as those types of movies go.

I'm looking forward to seeing this movie.

Movies like this (Jason, the Argonauts and the Golden Fleece etc) have to be viewed tongue in cheek. Over the top special effects and ham acting. Good fun!

It had a pretty good story line (taking into account what type of movie it was), it's targeted at kids. My kids, and my wife and I all enjoyed it. Worthwhile to see.

Good to hear. Definitely will be going - and I'll be having an ice cream and diet coke despite that nutritionist who is doing her bun about people buying ice cream, popcorn and drink when they go to the movies.

They'll be the next things banned. I can see it now; I go to Hoyts and the lolly counter will offer a range of `healthy alternatives'. Salad anyone?

Got to watch avatar the other day ~ I must be one of the few who thought it wasn’t the best thing since the invention of moving picture. Bloody hell I bet there were more surprises in Titanic. About a ¼ into the movie you knew how the next couple of hours was going to play out there was not one I did'nt see that coming moment. His other efforts T2 and Aliens were way better.
It should get the award for special effects but for originality my 10 year old could come up with a more original and complex plot. Now inglorious basterds that was original especially given how many millions of ww2 movies are out there.

Righto thanks in part to brief trip to NZ and back I've racked up a few movies
The Reader - Kinda felt it dragged abit, quality acting 7/10
Zombieland - Normally I'm not a fan of comedy zombie movies, but thought this was great 8/10
The Insider- Fine to watch when you're bored on a 24 hour flight..but only just. Way to long and not really that interesting a story 5/10
Wanted - The effects are cool but its just so far-fetched and the plot is full of holes 5/10
Inglorious bastards - Quality!Bonjourno! Hilarious and just plain cool 9/10
Avatar 3D (At the big IMAX in London) - As mentioned by a few the plot was lacking but the effects were sensational, I felt at the end that the most annoying thing was that it wasn't really that far off being a quality movie in its own right except it kinda got turned into a cheesy action fest just to show off the cool effects. Definitely a must see movie but only in 3D.
2 Dimensions 6/10, 3 Dimensions 9/10

You and me alike. I thought it was an average and predictable storyline.

The special effects made it special but if movie-makers think that I'm going to go to the cinema and wear goggles every time, they have another think coming.

Our local theatre was only showing Avatar' in 2D so we travelled to a theatre 2 hours away to see it in 3D. We came away a little disappointed.

And although I thought the special effects were good, the special effects at Australia's Sea World' were amazing compared to `Avatar'.

    The Informant, Matt Damon, 7.5/10

I liked this, based on a true story and a book.

Damon is brilliant as 'the informant' narcing on his huge organisations part in price fixing of lysin (sp??)....but all is not what it seems
