Why not address the points raised? Rather than diverting attention. As you seem to like doing.
No one excuses the initial attack. I certainly don't. It’s dreadful and impacts on innocent Israelis. But what do you feel about what Israel is doing now.
Hamas could end it all right now by giving the hostages back and not hanging out under hospitals eh?
Or did the western media make that up too?
They're never releasing the remaining hostages.
Firstly, their stories will be so horrific that even Winger may change his mind.
Secondly, they're the main thing holding the IDF back. The rest of the human shields are deterents but the rescue of their people is their priority.
Hamas need to be destroyed with their animal* brought to justice, then Israel needs to go on a hearts and minds mission.

I'll reiterate what I wrote back in early October
The decision makers on both sides are a bunch of evil c*nts who don't give a fuck what others think.

Spot on. Problem is that global politicians don't have the luxury of making that same declaration.

they might both be evil, but i have an issue with equating the two in the current situation. Hamas leadership are genuinely, avowedly committed to genocide and the removal of the Israeli nation and Jewish people, Israel has reacted to a terrorist atrocity, is trying to destroy a terrorist network infrastructure and recover its citizens being held hostage by them.

Putting aside the false equivalence, the IDF have so far done a sterling job in keeping civilian casualties low considering the built environment and utter unwillingness by Egypt to take in Palestinians.
That they're steadily making progress is a testament to them considering that every time the IDF warn the populace, they're telling Hamas where they're going to fight next. An enemy violating every law of armed conflict. Other countries would just bomb Gaza to the Stone Age.
-
@antipodean Spot on. Israel don't have a choice, ceasefires in the past have been broken by Hamas so that's not a real option either.
This would be over tomorrow if Hamas surrendered and gave back the remaining hostages. Every death is on them. Full stop.
Looking forward to the billionaire leaders of Hamas hiding in other countries being assasinated too.
The only good to come out of this is the exposing of western anti-semites. It's been truely shocking how evil some people have been acting towards jews.
-
And the West Bank? You've got the right-wingers in the Israeli government (e.g., Ben-Gvir) who are quite happy for the settlers to do what they want and would be just as happy to annex that territory too.
What is happening in Gaza is only part of the problem.

Yes of course
And there's also the religious aspect too
During the 2023 Gaza conflict, Benjamin Netanyahu said that Israelis were "committed to completely eliminating this evil [of Hamas] from the world" and added: "You must remember what Amalek has done to you, says our Holy Bible. And we do remember",[41] referencing the Hebrew Bible.[a] Scholars have described the verse as an instance of 'divinely mandated genocide'.[42]
In 1 Samuel 15:1–9, Samuel identifies Amalek as the enemy of Israelites, saying "Thus says the Lord of hosts: I will punish Amalek for what he did to Israel, how he ambushed him on the way when he came up from Egypt."[18] God (or is it Satan) then commands Saul to destroy the Amalekites, by killing man, woman, infant and suckling.[19] In 1 Samuel 15:33, Samuel identifies king Agag of Amalek as an enemy and killer, saying "As your sword has made women childless, so shall your mother be childless among women."

I think everyone's busy dealing with Hamas right now, but I agree that the illegal settlements need to be dealt with.

As does Netanyahu. If he was removed and charged and convicted for crimes against humanity then peace may be possible.
As it is Israel is destroying itself. Along with the West. Any moral authority, as weak as it was, is now gone.
-
“The moral authority in the Western world is gone. And it is gone forever. It is gone, not because of the criminal record--everybody's record is criminal. It is gone because you cannot do one thing and pretend you're doing another! None of us, who are sitting around in some of the true limbo out-of-space, which we call "now," waiting to be saved, civilized, or discovered, have the moral authority to say anything.”

Peace is only possible once Hamas is destroyed and everyone else accepts Israel's right to exist.
Yet again you seem awfully fixated on finding fault with the victim.

Food comes first, then morals. - Gerald Brenan
And in this case we're talking about security from the depravity of others. And the depravity is that which you consistently ignore, or offer mealy-mouthed platitudes.

Ironically destroying Hamas could be the worst possible outcome for Netanyahu. His right wing coalition partners don't want any peace deal and have always been able to avoid 2 nation negotiations by questioning who they negotiate with.
Removing Hamas makes that argument less relevant and might drive everyone to the negotiating table.
Far more likely unfortunately is that Israel is right now directly leading to the creation of whatever brutal evil organistaion rises 'on the blood of the martyrs' from the current war to replace Hamas.
Just as Hamas rose from Sabra and Chatilla after the Israeli's went into Lebanon to eliminate the PLO.
The whole region is fucked up with the possible exception of Jordan.

OK. I'll make it even simpler. I don't think Western leaders should "speak out" on what are the ravings of a racist, antisemitic fruitcake.
