Movie review thread...

seems like a lot has changed since the "good guys" won, big ask to explain how we go "here" as well as get to any kind of conclusion in one movie
the wife has said she'd like to watch all three before this comes out, thats my weekend planned, a bad action sci/fi is still better than most chick flicks
-
@kiwiwomble sounds like a good idea, I'd do the same, it's been years since I've watched them and I did quite like the first, think I'd prefer to watch it in the cinema, they were quite good looking on the big screen if I recall.
-
@r-l yeah, there is definitely some movies that should still be watch in the cinema, less than there were though, my tv is exponentially better in all ways than whatever 21" tube tv i had in my flat in '99, throw in COVID and how expensive the movies have become....homes pretty good for a lot of them

It’ll be another iteration of the Matrix, the one with Keanu wasn’t the first. And he is back to get Trinity, who comes back to life? Dunno.
Great song for the trailer tho!

No Laurence Fishburne in this one.
Really? I thought he'd discussed it when they were making John Wick 3. I must be miss-remembering.
The guy is def Laurence light, no where near the presence. He’ll be a big loss, even in the trailer it was annoying.

Oh, I don't watch trailers so I guess I'll have to wait to be disappointed by the actual movie itself.

Yeah I don’t normally watch trailers, but I succumbed to this one.
No Monica Belluci

Better off seeing her at her peak in Malena

They contain too many spoilers. I'll watch the odd big blockbuster one as they usually jjst have a bunch of action, but too many times plots have been spoiled so I just stopped watching them.

hmmm...it would be just like the Wachowskis to include an obscure game in their canon rather than conveniently ignore it to give the people what they want

The older Keanu and I get the more I like Keanu.
Pumped for this new Matrix despite not ever really getting into the previous ones (Even though I have seen them all due to FOMO)
The 1st one is unbelievably good IMO - storyline, execution, action - just amazing. Up there with Pulp Fiction for uniqueness. I loved it

and there is only one agent smith.. pity
According to Weaving, the Matrix star had originally agreed to return for the next instalment in the series after a script reading with fellow cast members. But, due to scheduling conflicts, the director “pulled the plug”.

its stuff like that that reminds me that these movies often/generally mean more to the fans than the actors, lots of us would be like, "one of the biggest movies ever, one of his biggest roles ever...what could be more important" but for the actors its often just a job and something new is often more important
