Kehua o Jury

Riggs and Murtagh - best 80s pair on film. Almost pipped by Crockett and Tubbs, but not quite. 
 
I liked Big Trouble in Little China too. Bloody hoot. Tango and Cash - oh yeah. Terry was excellent. 
 
They live ... bored me then, would bore me now. Street brawl went on too long. Strangely I do wish this had had a follow on because it had the genesis of something quite cool, but it didn't work as a stand alone for me.

American Ninja 1 and 2. My favourite action movies for a long time. I would watch them over and over. Once revisited...utter crap. Some unintentional laughs but crap all the same. Steve James what a legend. Of the two the second was the most enjoyable to laugh at. 
 
Tango and Cash. Loved it especially for Terri hatcher. Revisited...Terry still wortha look other wise Shite! Stallone and Russell just aren't Riggs and Murtaugh. 
 
Best of the best. A martial arts movie starring absolutely no martial artists in any of the starring roles. Eric Roberts and Chris Penn. Revisited surprisingly still worth watching. 
 
They Live. Roddy piper the wrestler in a John Carpenter alien conspiracy movie. Still fantastic and has what might be the greatest street brawl ever on film. Apparently getting a remake.

I had a copy of Warriors for years and never watched it. I remember dad getting it out once when I was really young and seeing about 20 min of thugs running round the streets before mum gave me the heave ho and said it was not a kids film(dad was old school and didn't care what i watched..I saw alien with him when I was six,nightmares and thoughts of face huggers under my bed for most of my early childhood). I am going to go have a look in the garage and see if its mixed in with my stuff the wife won't allow in the house!

Worth a watch dude, definitely a cult classic. Cast is full of no names except for maybe James Remar ( Ajax ). Hes one of those guys you've seen in a million movies but can't place him....aw and the guy who plays Luthar is David Patrick Kelly otherwise known as Sully from Commando who Arnie lets go.... 
 
Very fun PS2 game as well !

They Live might just be the best b-movie of all time.

Yes yes, that movie is brilliant. Some of the fighting scenes are incredible. Not sure how they could make it today though. The clothes most of the gangs wore in that film would be laughed at today. The funniest were the guys dressed as mime artists, very scary.... 
 
Saw 2 interesting films recently. 
The Winter War - a Finnish war movie about the war with the Ruskies in 39-40 and one of the best and most realistic war movies around. 
 
Dead Snow - A Norwegian zombie film in which a group of skiiers staying in a mountain cabin are attacked by Nazi zombies. CrÃ¥p but very entertaining.

Just had a `Transporter' fest. A recap of I and II and the recently released III. 
 
Jason Statham is the poor man's Bond. 
 
It's really the same movie with different fight scenes but they are lots of fun with great scenery, fast cars and great fight scenes. He's not too bad either. <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' />

If you like Kurt Russell (with a cameo part for Steven Segal) you might like the movie Executive Decision'. It's not a kick-butt movie; it's more along the lines of Airforce One' but quite gripping. Kurt Russell would be the most underated actor of our time, I'd say. 
 
The Bourne Identity' movies are great too as are the Die Hard' series. I watched each series back-to-back over a couple of weekends. Just tell everyone you're going away for the weekend, take the phone off the hook, get plenty of goodies in and blob out. My kind of weekend. eusa_whistle

Exec decision is a good watch [spoiler:3w090yum]very suprised when Segals character bought farm[/spoiler:3w090yum] 
 
I gotta say though, I agree with the Die hard and Bourne movies, but the transporter movies mate i am seriously not a fan. I think Luc Besson produced them. That guy started out so well. Leon is a massive movie and 5th element was bloody good fun too. But its been all down hill from there. But each to their own. If you like them and they made 3 of the bloody things other people must too.

Nope, Raz - I'm with you. The Transporter films weren't for me. I liked Leon (The Professional) too. One of my favourite movies from the 1990s and has a particular cool factor with the brilliant Gary Oldman playing the villain.

Inglorious Basterds, pretty good, very Tarentino, probably his best film. The dialogue is a LOT better than kill bill, and most of the actors were excellent. Few very good laughs too. Did amuse me that its basically about terrorists attacking the occupiers, as noted in the movie at one point, guessing that'll fly over the head of most audiences <img src='http://www.daimenhutchison.com/invision/public/style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.png' class='bbc_emoticon' alt=':)' /> 
 
Definately recommended tho'

Finally saw District 9 - agree with others that it was great. I even liked the effects (and as some of you will know from the Avatar thread I'm not that much of a fan of effects.) 
 
It is easily one of the best films I've seen this year.

The Boat that rocked. Great cast completely wasted. One of the most unfunny comedies I have ever seen. Nick Frost wasted. Rhys Ifans wasted. Rhys Darby wasted(must the first time 2 rhys' starred in a movie together). Bill Nighy wasted. Kenneth Branagh Wasted. It was pathetic. Not one laugh out loud moment. I don't think I even smirked.

It was great, I agree it's one of his better films; his most grown up and most infantile at the same time. 
 
I loved the slow burner scenes, you just don't see those in blockbusters any more, the tension at times was unbearable. Great acting too. 
 
Nice to see something different too, pretty original idea. And Mike Myers was funny: shock!

Yes, he had some pearlers alright. I didn't really pay much attention to the music, though the Gasoline song was pretty good in context, but that's the only one I noticed.

Thanks for the heads-up. I think Bill Nighy is great but when I saw the trailer I thought it looked rubbish. ($$$ saved!)

I think the documentary' bit went on a bit too long. I think Peter Jackson must have thought the audience were thick or something if he thought they would not get the idea' after a short intro. He should have just let us follow the storyline ourselves. 
 
Although it wasn't bad, I actually thought it was more like a dvd or made-for-tv movie than a big screen block-buster. 
 
Good ending though.

Saw the latest Harry Potter movie, alas with my lack of research I thought it was the last installment in the series and thougt. "Well I might as well go see the last one at the movies". Only of course to discover that it wasn't, made up for my some poor sap blubbering away in the cinema when dumbledorph died and I recalled the parody in the Simpson's when Homer is reading the book to Lisa and changes then ending when poor greystache dies - then spends the next night in Moe's sobbing into his beer cying out "Greystache, oh greystache!!" Spent the next 15 minutes furiously trying not to bray like a donkey with laughter - worth the price of admission alone!! 
 
Movie was ok as well... 
 
Saw Ingolorious Basterds lat night, good except for the last 20 minutes where it really just got a bit silly - still what does one expect from Tanintino... 
 
Loved that Colnel Landers character - all class "Mind if I smoke my pipe as well??" Outstanding!!!
