@MN5 do you like Chris Nolan films usually?
I genuinely loved the Batmans, Dunkirk and the Prestige. This on the other hand was just full of too much self indulgent wank for me. I think it could have also benefited from better leads than Sawn off Washington and Giraffe Lady too
I thought Denzel Jnr was great in this, but agree about the Giraffe Lady.
This and Black Klansman are two reasons I’m not a massive fan compared to his old man.
Wow, he's great in Blackkklansmen.
He's your Clive Owen.
Referring more to the movie than him personally.
Oh, I thought Blackkklansmen was really good.
Not enough action. Kylo Ren was great though
Interesting, I didn't go into it expecting an action movie so wasn't disappointed by the lack of action. Agree on Kylo but don't think he was better than Baby Denzel. Eric from The 70s Show was good in it too.
Actually neither did I. I think it was the complete lack of tension or drama that irked me. It was just a nothing movie in my opinion.
We'll have to agree to disagree.
Often the case on the fern.
Usually after 20 posts of saying the same thing in different ways.
I promise I won’t call you names and block you though
I am wondering what names you called me in the deleted post above though.

That was technical errors, quite typical of me. Easier to get rid of it and start again.

The key point for me was how unlikeable they all were. In INception, you had a bit of frission, reason to like the main character when he was a dick (kids), and some good banter and stuff with the other players. That, and the lame battle scene at the end, was what made it an average movie for me.
You mean Tenat ?

Similar to @mariner4life I read Dune in my early teens.
Got a bit lost.
Read it again a year or so back.
Got a bit lost.
Seem to recall it was worth a read though.
Think it was written in the 60s and is more about plots and scheming and politics and fantasy rather than what I think of as Sci-fi (i.e., lasers and aliens that rip out your guts).
Tried watching the 1980s movie recentlyish too and got extremely lost.
This looks like fun though.
Yeah, started reading it the other night, I can see what you mean, a bit hard going...never a good thing when sentences have more than one or two made up words...and that was the first page...have been reassured by some mate who have read it before it’s worth it so will preserve

I watched the 1984 version again. If 2020s version can iron out a few kinks it may well be a absolute classic. Fingers crossed.

Made some real progress this avo, thanks lockdown
Saw a cool clip on YouTube, someone already done a shot for shot comparison between the 80s version and the trailer

Well all I can say is this is a welcome relief from yet another Steven Seagal post

Been watching parts of each Godfather movie which have been on sky recently but haven't managed to watch a full movie of any of them. Was watching the end of GFIII and we had a power cut with 20 mins remaining? What happens at the end?
Is GFIII the worst of the lot? Seemed rather dull?

First two are great, last one sucks. Pretend it doesn't exist.

That makes sense. What does happen at the end of the 3rd one though? Does Al Pacino get smoked? What about Andy Garcia?

I think Al dies/retires and Garcia becomes the Godfather, I honestly can't remember

That was the last thing I saw. Andy became GF and Al went to a theatre and some dude was going to shoot him but got distracted and then power cut!

Al lives, daughter dies, he dies an old man and falls of the chair in Italy. Sigh.

He snorts way too much cocaine, shoots his best mate for nailing his sister, shoots his sister then dies in a big shootout.
Oh sorry, wrong movie.
