@duluth Battle of the halves should be good. Looking forward to this one.
-
Biggest game of the season for both sides.
Agree @Tim the Naki 9/10 combination have been superb. Also impressed with the tight 5 for the Naki and their workrate.
-
Wainui preferred to Ngatai ?
-
@cgrant If I remember it correctly, this is Ngatai's first game since his latest head knock. They're probably carefully managing him and easing him back into the game; or it's just a lack of match fitness.
-
Great start for the Cantabs. 12-0 after 12 minutes
-
Richie converts and good guys lead 14-0
-
Wow, that was a pathetic display of defence by Wainui for the first try. Looks like Taranaki are going to get taught a lesson. Canterbury waltzing through the midfield at will.
-
Taranaki's lack of discipline is going to cost them if they continue like this. Yellow cards are handed out like candy this week.
-
Bateman's old legs are still fast enough for that intercept try.
-
Wow, Tamanivalu. Speed of light.
-
wheels coming off...damn it was hoping for at least a competitive one
-
This was supposed to be a super clash between arguably the two strongest teams in the competition. I only see one strong team tonight. Come on Naki! That Shield must circulate!

I think they heard you
-
It suddenly has become an interesting game again. Only 10 points between the teams now.
-
@stockcar86 Ha, yes, I wish the Magpies listened to me as well!
-
So the PC I was watching it on crashed after canterburys 3rd try and Ive only just managed to get it on again. what the hell has been happening?
-
Naki back in the game with an intercept try to Seta, and a good assist from McKenzie for a try by Perofeta
-
@rembrandt In short, Taranaki finally got the ball!
Intercept try to Tamanivalu after a bad throw from Thompson.
Try to Perofeta after some excellent stepping from McKenzie.
Try to Sowakula, who was steamrolling the Cantab defence. -
haha what a terrible set play from an attacking scrum.
-
so it looks like its going to be one if those games I can't watch if I want Taranaki to win
-
-
Defence optional in this game.
-
What has happened to the rugby ball this year in particular to get the reverse swing that sees goal kick clearly swinging away from the posts an missing somehow reverse swing back against the flight of the ball and pass between the uprights? It happens too often to be called a fluke or "allowing for the wind" in both rugby and league. That last conversion be Richie Mo'ounga was just the latest of these reverse swigging efforts.

Certainly seems to be although that last Taranaki try was a beaut one
In case anyone needs to know the score it is Canterbury 38 - 35 Taranaki after 56 minutes
-
Make that 38 all after 57 minutes after another M McKenzie penalty
-
If Taranaki wins the Shield tonight, they already have a challenge on Wednesday. From Manawatu. Whoever wins that game, keeps the Shield until next season.
-
You beauty!!! Naki in 43 - 38
-
What a kick! 45 - 38. 10 remaining
-
Wow, Taranaki! 8 minutes to go and they lead 52 to 38. Surely, Canterbury can't come back from this?
-
52-38 now.
Edit: Dolt, Stargazer beat me to it.
-
MANASA!!!!!!!!!!
-
Naki have really piled in at the breakdown in the last 10 minutes. Excellent work.
Game over and the Shield gets a holiday away
-
WTF I decided it was over when Canterbury went ahead 38 whatever just after the half!

Drop goal!
-
UP the Naki.!!!!
-
I think Canterbury thought that too.
-
@wally and I stopped watching....
-
Outstanding!
