trailer for The Luminaries looks interesting, set in NZ during the 1860s gold rush, has Eva Green...oh and Martin Csokas and some other folk.
So will therefore have nudity. Let's hope its not just Eva.
You’re hoping for Martin as well? 😱

Umm, no. But Bono's daughter will do (she is the lead).

Is she the one from The Knick? I really did not like her in that ... but that's a decent pic that might change my mind.

Yes, but she had a chin high ugly nurses outfit on in that.
Here's another photo

She just annoyed me full stop regardless of the nurses outfit. I think she got naked on The Knick didn't she?
Google only returns a naked scene that shows nothing
She’s not that hot but it would make a change from Eva’s oft displayed rack.

"Come and have dinner with my family". Fuck that.
Yes I realise that it was only about shagging / hawt, but, still no. The risk of meeting him is too high. What was with that band? Bono, The Edge. Were they 10 when they made up their names?

Agreed. Marty is such a slimeball and Wendy a bulldozing bitch. The kids are both fucked ( understandably ).....am I a bad person for thinking Ruth deserved the beating she got ?
It's compelling viewing but there certainly isn't a single character worth rooting for.
Speaking of that there's not a single hottie in it either.
Darlene could look after you?!
( shudders )
She taught Wyatt a thing or two!

The Last Kingdom S1
I've been watching this partially due to the discussions on here and because a lot of my IRL mates have told me to watch.
I'm about 7 episodes in and TBH I think it's pretty crap so far outside of the pilot. Does it get better as the seasons go on (like Parks and Rec after it's dud first season).
It just feels like a cut price Vikings at the moment (with less than even S1 Vikings low budget). The lead appears to be doing his best Travis Fimmel impression just without as much charisma, the plotting after the good 1st episode is shit - I feel like I'm watching a procedural show, the Viking age version of Law and Order. Cut price Travis does something good, then he does something stupid because main his character trait is doing stupid, then he gets in trouble with the King - because he's stupid. And he changes girlfriends every two episodes ... at least each one is an upgrade on the previous one.
I know some of you really like this show, so hopefully someone can confirm it does actually get better after the first season?

@Nepia i liked it, but then i watched the entire first season on a long flight.
i started the 2nd season and wasn't in to it, so bailed. was thinking about restarting but not seriously
Damn, that doesn't bode well for me.
I've committed myself to the first season so maybe it will improve from here.
-
I actually thought it was pretty good, oddly I didn't see that similarities in Ragnar/Utred, aside from the leadership/Viking mentality.
Last season wasn't as good, but good enough I'll be giving the new season a crack.
Had a look at a new series, Trying (Apple TV) which started pretty well...(under 30 min episodes)
Couple in thier 30s trying to conceive, but end up trying to adopt...opening scene is gold.
Not too dissimilar to Breeders with some hilarity and some more serious stuff.
No big names but a few familiar faces.

Yeah, I enjoyed the 1st 3 seasons, though when I tried to watch S4 E1 the other night after a break, I didn't love it.

Breeders is ace eh!
Innocent (itv) is chugging along nicely.
David Collins fights to rebuild his shattered life, when, after spending seven years in a high-security prison, his conviction for the murder of his wife is overturned. He then vows to discover the real killer.

Defending Jacob
Good start

I've enjoyed both series up to a point. Vikings is now dead for me and this pretty much coincided with Ragnar dying, I think it just lost its way and got full of lazy stereotypes. The Last Kingdom I have liked and watched all four seasons, though I find it is getting a lot looser in the storylines and has gradually diminished, though still watchable.
