What are you listening to, right now................

I’m not going to post a clip as you all know the album but that new show about the Sex Pistols made me throw Never mind the bollocks on today.
What a fucking brilliant album! Worth revisiting.
I probably won’t listen to it again for a while but I have kind of changed my mind a bit and it deserves its place in history -

was trawling through for some depeche mode and forgot about this mash up
I saw them at MSG about 5 years ago, wasn't a fan prior, but a pretty good gig

Then onto this one
-
@MajorRage this came up on my YouTube feed so naturally I had a listen.
Three points……
-
Roddy, Mike, Bill and the guitarist must have thought, “fuck it, let’s see how Chuck has been going after all these years and give him another hoon” ( despite firing him for being hammered too often all those years ago )……I think the other Mike (Patton) is safe…..
-
Kinda poignant, Chuck was dead not long after this performance
-
Gould has THE most killer bass tone I’ve heard in years. Him and Mike Bordin drive this song like an absolute motherfucker ( which is needed to make up for Moselys efforts )

@MN5 tried to like this song but outside of the bass it sucked. But have enjoyed your recommendation on Joe very much.
There’s other better versions, it was just poignant to me with Chuck trying his best and failing to sound decent
-
@MN5 Yeah everything is relevant because I don’t know who the fuck Chuck is but obviously you have a connection so it makes a difference. Plus since you’re a bass player, I assume, that kind of stuff sticks with you. So no love for Randy Bachman and looking out for number one?
-
@MajorRage said in What are you listening to, right now................:
@MN5 Surely the problem there is mainly the volume on Chuck's mic! You can't really hear him.
Gould's bass is ridiculously tight.
Absolutely. Just about blew the speakers in the CX5 when I was listening.
Some really nice subtle grooves from him too, subtle in the way a sledgehammer is !

@MN5 Diamond girl, play for you and a couple others in my youth. Good yacht rock stuff.
Is it yacht rock or folk rock ?
I’d consider yacht rock stuff with smooth synthesisers and saxophones. Michael McDonald, Some Steely Dan, Boz Skaggs, some Toto, Christopher Cross etc.
Perhaps @Tim can clear it up ?
