Doesn’t surprise me in the slightest that ST is handy with the dukes. On the field I remember him having a swing at big lock Ben Kay and even bigger lock Johan Ackerman.

Some really nice power and lovely combo there to make light work of Asotasi.

Maybe 10 seconds but he was only standing for 6. That is an awesome amount of power considering he isn't fully using his weight and reach for most of those punches.

I think the second punch of that combo was redundant. The first one (left hand shot) he came from low used power from his legs. Asotasi's head rocks back big from that hit.

Yeah both still close enough to their prime , so I’m still pumped

I can’t pick this one , I go back and forward, maybe years ago I was leaning towards Spence due to being the more genuine welterweight, but the car accident has me a little bit uncertain if he is still the same ,

Best welterweight matchup since Leonard v lHearns

Ridiculously close and impossible to call and always so exciting when two undefeated fighters come face to face. Amazing that it’s happening too without some clause or other bullshit getting in the way.

It possibly speaks volumes that Joseph Parker knocked a journeyman out in the first round a few days back and it doesn’t even get a mention on here. I really wish he’d think of giving it up.

He has a top trainer and well known champion telling him he can get back to the top. Why would he pull the plug?

Blowing smoke up his arse. Parker is a fantastic guy and a very good boxer but he just doesn’t quite have the goods to trouble the absolute elite of the sport.

If every rugby player gave up because they weren't challenging the best in the world it would be left to the clubbies.

If he can make a good living without getting damaged why not?

if you can ignore the money laundering allegations.

Always struck me as a big dumb lummox who had some athletic ability and overachieved despite limited boxing skills.

    Great tik-tok videos though.

Yeah but he has to be in the elite to make the elite money.

The guy he just fought doesn’t even have a Wikipedia page.

Who need elite. He averages $1M (US) a fight and much more against the second tier. Even as a gateway fighter he probably nets a few million a year. I'd take that.

I get what you mean but seriously, how much would he have made fighting the guy he just fought ? Such a step down from Joshua/Joyce etc.

Presumably he needed to show off his improved ring attitude and lined up a bum to do it. Fury turning up pointed to the team looking at Oz as a market and he did a good sales job. It wouldn't surprise me at all if a decent fight emerges from an Oz promoter. Fury dropping hints about fighting there (even as a warm up) would attract eyes and dollars plus a better opponent for Joe on the undercard. No one at the top wants to fight Fury but there are a couple of guys that might fancy a rematch.
He surely has to reposition himself (which looks like what they are doing). He isn't the contender to get past at the moment and those wanting to be contenders are wary of him. Someone will roll the dice and take him on. I reckon someone like Sanchez needs a 'name' fight.
I reckon they are trying to set him up with Ruiz somehow. The attraction for Ruiz is overcoming the black mark on his CV that was Joe.
For Joe it would put him back up the charts

Na don’t sweat it. Send me your details and I’ll make up a page for you. I’ll also pad out your record with some imaginary bouts against made up fighters ( they’ll have Wikipedia pages too ) and we’ll get you a title fight in no time.

Thank fudge for that! I was worried I might need to develop skill, fitness, and toughness!
