    This is a good idea. I'd pick up one of the orginal Blues jerseys.

    Otherwise known as 'back when we was winning' jerseys

    They weren't always winning. I bought tickets in advance for the Qld game and was super excited about Lomu and co coming to town. It was a farking bloodbath. Obviously I'm a Canes fan, but it's no fun seeing a side stacked with ABs get done like that. Think ACT reamed them as well that year.

    No. But they won the first two titles didn't they? So a legacy jersey should go back to the start

    I don't care about the jersey, I want my money back for the Blues sucking so much in that game. It was gruesome.

    As a canes supporter you should have been used to that. We had Jonah Cully and Tana all at once. Problem is we had almost no one else

    As a Canes supporter you should know that wasnt to occur until a few years later. This was 1996.

    I was talking in general terms. Did not assume were talking about that time. Let's face it we were pretty shit in early S12

    I specifically mentioned that game. The whole point is that I went to see my heroes (even if they were wearing Blues jersies) in the flesh and they played like utter shit and were mercilessly raped by the Reds. Which goes back to my original point that the Blues didn't always win, in fact they suffered an appalling loss that season.

    The Canes came the next year, were 0-19 down and then proceeded to annihilate the Reds. Was glorious. Cullen was well contained, but Tana cut loose.

    Apologies for heading along an unwanted tangent πŸ˜‰. That was the joy of watching the canes. A rollercoaster ride

    Indeed it was. At least until Hammett got hold of them and made them consistently mediocre.

    Wait are you crediting Hammer for our later success?

    It's always the coach before the coach who gets the credit (ref: @Chris-B), so Hammettuer for the Canes, Blackadder for the Crusaders, Fozzie for the Chiefs, Glen Moore for the Highlanders, and no doubt in the next year or so Tana for the Blues.

    I'd assumed any other teams that ran a legacy jersey would also bring back the 96 kit, but u guess that may not be the case. So how about this: if you could choose any of your team's jerseys to be worn as a legacy strip, which would it be? I'd still go for the 96 Crusaders jersey because a) I quite like it (not the shorts) and b) it's a good reminder of where the dynasty came from. My memories of that year are painful but that pain is easy to manage these days thanks to the 100 titles πŸ™‚

    After 1996 I think the jersey was the same until 2000 when adidas had its first crack at it. That largely black number would be my second choice. From 2001 until present day they've changed often but not dramatically year to year.

    Would any Chiefs fans be keen on that black one that was the only one to feature any Harbour / BOP colours in around 1998?

    Good point, the Blues was this;

    @Kirwan The problem with the Blues is the neon green NIB sign that would be in the middle of any retro jersey - urgh.
