so, Crotty out for upto 8 weeks, Scott Barrett upto 6...both with breaks in thier hands.
Changes things.
@Jaguares4real will be bullish now 🙂
Made a massive difference when they went off

Damn Right I am
Crotty is the general of the Saders backline Goodhue at 12 is a likely weak point for Saders
Goodhue got exposed a few times in Defence last week, lacks top end speed
Romano will replace Barrett adequately
Jaguares will be vulnerable in 1st half especially on 1st game on tour
Lions scored 40 pt in 1st 50 mins in Jo'burg
Landers had a 13 pt lead at half time in Dunedin
IF Jaguares start well then will finish well
Jaguares have 2nd best Points Differential this season in SR in 2nd half of matches

Assuming Goodhue moves in it will be interesting to watch his defence.
The Jags will test him, but this time he'll have a week to prepare rather than shifting during the match
They might decide to play Bateman at 12, which wouldn't be such a bad choice if he had played a few more games this season.
-
@Duluth yeah thats the thing, he will have a week to prepare having Ennor alongside of him, which will make a big difference.
12 and 13 are tough positions to defend, and while these guys at the top of thier game should be able to to adjust, sometimes they just dont.

Jaguares will looking at Goodhue as a mark to test out in defence
If he's at 12 he'll be challenged mentally with Communication & Organisation alongside Mo'unga & Havilli
If he;s at 13, I fancy Orlando to skin him a few times on the outside
Orlando been the best #13 in Super Rugby this year

I believe Will Jordan is fit again from his foot injury
If he's match fit I'd play him at 15, move Havilli to 12 with Ennor #23
If he;s not match fit I'd move Goodhue to 12, Ennor to 13 & Jordan #23

What's really sad about this new is, is that this Final was supposed to be the last Super Rugby and Crusaders game of Crotty's rugby career. Instead, he has to sit in the stands and watch, and his last game was a Semi-Final in which he broke his thumb.

@Stargazer Yeah that is Crotty has been a loyal servant to NZ rugby great Shame hes bows out from the Crusaders like this.
Goodhue and Ennor I think will combine in the MF for Saturday they will be fine they have a whole week to organise their defensive patterns.
Both read the game really well its different starting and training all week together than an injury Halfway through a game and being thrown together somewhat. -
@Jaguares4real I think it will be Goodhue and Ennor in the MF and Jordan on the bench. You could argue extra pace helps.

Poetic really

And before you all come piling in here with your panties in a bunch, that was a fucking joke. Missing a GF for anything is harsh, missing with an injury is the worst
Couple of pretty fucking big outs for the Crusaders, unlike a few positions in the side, it seems that they don't have great cover there. Wait, i forgot Romano existed. As you were.

I concur
Jaguares have some serious speed in their outside backs
Ennor would be a good antidote as well pose a legit threat in attack with his running ability
-
@mariner4life yeah not so sure about the bench cover or 3rd locking option now not totally convinced on Strange or Dunshea

Jaguares 28 man squad for final
Also bear in mind another side - Jaguares XV left for SA on the same day to play Currie Cup Rugby
Not bad for a 19 year old!!!
28? Fucking Cheika started this, and look how it's blown out.
World Rugby need to crack down on this. Name a 23 on Monday!

that will affect our Thursday naming too, not sure people could handle the change, although I guess at least if they standardise it, everyone knows when the team will be named.

So 3 RWC refs (O’Keeffe, Williams and Gardner) didn't officiate in any of the 7 Super rugby playoff games.
Meeting their powder dry
Also SA ref in game with SA conference winner in it, the stitch is on!

Geez, that's a lot of bandage for a broken finger.

Nah, Peyper is a homer like Jackson.
@Chris I was implying that WR and SANZAAR have a different view on the refs.
-
that's a bit shit for crotty and barrett eh, big losses.
ennor is a gun i reckon, quick off the mark, good hands and one of our few backs who can hold their depth and hit a pass with pace. goodhue we all know is excellent, so surely they'll sort themselves out.
not so convinced about the locking options. romano is okay, strange hasn't kicked on, dunshea's been okay. none of them have had a season that is a patch on ennor's though. -

I happened to see Havili at 12 in one game and he looked very at home.
If RC was leader of backline defence I wonder who is his designated deputy, if there is one.
-
@Stargazer said in SR Final: Crusaders v Jaguares:
@pakman Havili played at 12 for Tasman all season in 2018. Captained the team as well.
So maybe a good option. At this stage JG seems to offer much more at centre.
-
Goodhue is a natural centre and defensively is very good there. At 12 he was iffy and add to that Ennor really struggled defensively at centre.
In attack Ennor has the goods.
Whilst it seems unlikely I would feel far more comfortable with:
12 - Havili
13 - Goodhue
15 - Jordan23 - Ennor
