poor ol' Guppy - just the poorest time for his luck to completely desert him.
Looking back on the home summer, he scored back to back 100's v. India - and then got injured/rotated (can't remember what) and then hes been absolute pants since, incl. vs Bangladesh.

Had to look it up but the centuries were against Bangladesh.

@mariner4life apologies - forgot Stead played. I blame Hesson. Maybe he saw the writing on the wall...

@hydro11 mmm. I looked it up too, coulda sworn they were v. India. My bad, just checked this. Didn't read scorecards properly. Still. Wrong year for the form to go...

That commentator just tried to claim there's been no seam movement. Lol.

    Great shot Henry!

Great shot from Nicholls. He looks over-matched but he gives you some confidence that he will get through it.

    Should have bowled first.

No question IMO given the dodgy form of our batting line-up.

Our best chance was to have India going hard against our bowlers and nicking out Rohit and Virat early.

Instead, we're the ones thinking we need to post 300 and behind the eight ball.

Only good thing is that might be Bunrah's first spell done and he's only got one wicket. And they used up their review - two good things.

could this be just one of those pitches you've got to get yourself in on...so long as these two don't get out we're fine...

275 by the score predictor seems generous.

nicholls looks a bit at sea, but he's got a solid temperament getting beaten like that then smashing the fuller one.

    This game is already over

NZ will go do well to get 225 runs let alone sniff 250 runs

I think the Kiwi based TSF members can have an early night

I think most teams back themselves do both, even if they are better at one of them. So most teams base it on the conditions when perhaps they shouldn't.

Regardless if we are at 30/1 after 10 overs, that is fine going. The real question will be how we play Chahal.

Well one thing is for sure, if Munro was playing we'd be at least 2 down by now.

Vettori reckoned we needed to dominate the first ten overs. Well we haven't done that but i guess at least one of the openers are still in.

@No-Quarter yep, it's good to still have one opener there at the ten over mark 🙂

I'm actually happy with the start given how well Bumrah bowled. We didn't lose a bunch of wickets and we now have two set players at the crease, which is a far cry from the last few matches.

Still a massive task ahead but at least we haven't lost the game already.

@No-Quarter Lockie wouldn't, the other 3 would. A team with both Bumrah and Boult in it, with Bhuvi/Shami available, plus the Indian wrist spinners?

A lot of negative nellies on here at the moment.

We've gone from 10/1 off 7 to 38/1 of 12. Last 5 overs at nearly 6 an over.

Ball after ball at the top of Kane's off stump for dots and he's doing nothing to try and break it up. As loath as I am to criticise the great man, he needs to do a little more.
