The Chiefs had a couple of nice breaks from #8 during this season.

Then again, they did some Willie-away moves, so perhaps they were just doing them out of nostalgia.

I can't recall the last time the ABs did a really effective back line set play from a scrum.

@Crucial I guess all of us remember where we were for that game. The emotional rollercoaster was immense.

In the cold light of day though, jeez our defence to let them back in was a black mark.

    But, a win's a win

I was pissed off we let them back in that easily , I didnt enjoy that game the way most did for that reason..... but Im probably a grumpy bastard .

As previously stated: was at the game in 2000. Jonah was immense with the ball, but in defense was also the reason Mortlock had a good game - slow to turn.

It was disappointing to lose, but my lasting memory will be on the way back to the train station, a grown man in black flipping off a mouthy kid dressed in gold.

A mouthy Aussie, who would have thought?
Pretty sure the little shit would have deserved it too, oh and it's yellow, gold is a metal, yellow is a colour.

    Bring on the match.

@Chester-Draws it’s puzzling because with defences 5 yards back there is a ton of space for a fast, ball playing 8 to exploit. And yet, I can’t think of a single effective play off the back of the scrum at test level in recent memory.

Anyone got one more recent than this:

Yeah but it’s games like these that provide the reasons we watch sports. The unpredictable nature and up and down emotional ride....
The big guy gets remembered for that last minute try but the pass to him has to be the best thing Taine Randell ever did in black (he had a pretty good game IIRC). That pass was quite amazing.

Few fans give a fuck who won a game on EOYT or Summer tour in 2016-17 if you deliver the goods come RWC time

That would be why we took not winning the last Lions tour with such grace and calm then!

And why we weren't remotely upset about losing to Ireland. Either time.

And why when we finally lose the Bledisloe that everyone will be cool with it.

    You do talk some shit.

    @Chester-Draws

Another case of wilfully ignoring my last comment(s) FFS
    I sense a pattern emerging....... 🤔

"With the exception of Boks ABs & England who're under immense pressure to win very game"

Can we shown a bit of imagination & not see everything through a ABs Point of View? 🙏🏻 🙏🏻

    For Attention Of @Snowy

My statement above does not apply to AB, England & Boks fans as I outlined above

You demean yourself by omitting the word after "provoke" in a poor attempt to change the meaning of my point

Add "debate" if you want, it doesn't change the intent or meaning. It is provocation - troll.

You do demean all other rugby fans with your comment that only "AB, England & Boks" are under immense pressure to win every game. Ever been to Wales? Australia? Met the rugby fans?

@Jaguares4real Due to the ABs dominance over the last few years you'd struggle to find a kiwi who'd ever not take a loss to heart. Boks and England have had some awful losing streaks so they have had to adjust to that reality, for the most part we haven't. It is ridiculously high standards for sure, calling a game a 'friendly' undermines how seriously we take each match even if other teams don't see it that way. That unfriendly ethos could very well be a driver of our success where other teams seem happy for the odd win, a draw, a moral victory or maybe just winning a half.

We're not going to drop that standard and it's just too bad for the opposition if they priouette into a game against us with a loser attitude.

Strike first, strike hard, no mercy!
    The Cobra Kai AB way!

    Sorry, but what does?

Like the Connor reference but @Jaguares4real has been banned at least twice but still doesn't walk out of a fight. Small kudos for that.

Neither, in that case, has England

    Or Argentina

Or, in fact, the 120 odd other nations who are eligible

I really want this side to go well, because I think the selections are on the right track. Particularly the backline

    Fingers crossed

Most of us are going to look like idiots (again) if it fails.

    I'm cautiously confident though.

The 3 7s in the 23 is interesting, not sure how much we read into it and possible tactics in the WC .
