    they were just talking about games under Owens for NZ/Ire on RS

    Apparently Ireland have had him 18 times, 3 times v NZ and not won.

    We have had him 10 times, lost 3, all v SA

    Never Change, Shag. I love the way he responds to some of the more facile and inane questions.

    @Bovidae Before the SA game Shag and the boys talked about getting in behind to exploit their wings rushing up. Then we did it. I wonder if Shag plans to 'set Joe up'. At least he might have a think about it for a moment or two

    He's unflappable. Definitely wheels out his detective mask to put them in their places, its brilliant

    @canefan The coaches never give anything away in these press conferences but they will all have plans to counter the expected tactics of the opposition.

    Interesting that he specifically says they don't expect an aerial bombardment, double tripple bluff? They'd have to tie Murray's shoe laces together to stop the box kicks!

    Now, I've heard it all! Owens will allow the ABs to cheat more.

    He may allow the game to flow more ,open running rugby will suit us down to the ground obviously,

    They want a stop start borefest, but they can’t say that , it sounds too negative and against what is good for the game

    @Bovidae
    Kind of a pathetic story.
    Any Irish journalist could go online, find some whinging Kiwis fans somewhere, then headline it-
    Kiwi fans aren't happy with ..............

    It just cracks me up when other team’s fans carry on about breakdown ‘cheating’ as if their team is Lilly white.

    And that's my point. Ireland wants a ref who allows plenty of leeway at the breakdown but have criticised the likes of Gardner who was stricter with players supporting their own bodyweight.

    Weather forecast - warm but rainy.

    Will Ireland handle it?

    It's cold compared to last week and the start of the tourney. I had to wear a long-sleeved jersey to work today for the first time this year, so I imagine the Irish will be loving it compared to earlier. If it is 22 degrees, then that is warmish, but not hot by any means.
