When CHBS is strong the All Blacks are strong.....

That is a big nod to their recruitment processes at that school.

@Hooroo I'd like to know how many players were poached from other schools' 1st XVs, and which these other schools were.
How come?
Isn't that just a poor mans word for Recruit?

Well at least two of those Lindersfarne two were pre-poached with rugby scholarships ... otherwise Hastings Boys would have had 3.

@Nepia I wasn't implying you were. Just saying that players from rural areas often end up at city schools, and used him as an example.
Why reply to me then I was talking about urban boys?
FYI - I have no issue with rural boys going to city schools.

Pre poached.... LFC is a factory. Cooked meals are what fuel footy players. Easy decision for any aspiring rugby player looking to take their game to the big stage.
HBHS is just a gym you wear a scruffie uniform to and play rugby here and there.

@Magpie_in_aus hasting boys will be the future

Interesting that the 1995 squad had two players from two different Invercargill schoolboys but neither were from Southland BHS.
I think the first time I ever heard of Jeff Wilson was when he featured on TV news when he scored something like 70 or 80 points when Cargill High School thrashed some rural Southland college. Or maybe it was when I read a newspaper article about how he lost 6 or 7 cricket balls when batting in the national provincial Under 19 tournament at Victoria Park, Wanganui (from this match I think: https://archive.nzc.nz/Scorecards/143/143072.html )
Now Cargill High School doesn't exist anymore.
Where does that successor school (Aurora) rate in Highlanders schoolboy rugby?

Apparently, the journo's research skills aren't very good. George Bridge is Lindisfarne's 6th All Black, not 4th. Voerman forgot Mick Duncan (1971) and Campbell Johnstone (2005).

They're just collating from the 9 NZ RWC squads.
