Auckland back to L3 from 12 tomorrow for 3 days.
-
Auckland will move to level 3 at noon tomorrow for three days (until midnight Friday).
That means people in Auckland should stay home from work or school tomorrow.
All schools and childcare facilities will be closed from tomorrow morning except for the children of essential service workers.
Gatherings of more than 10 people are again restricted in Auckland.
Travelling into Auckland is not allowed unless you live there and are going home. If you are in Auckland now but don't live there you can leave, she says.
The boundary for the lockdown is the boundary of the Supercity. Police will work out road-blocks tomorrow.
Essential services such as supermarkets and pharmacies will remain open.

Well, it was inevitable that it would get into the community again, I'm just surprised it hasn't happened sooner.
We're going to have to figure out a way to live with Covid sooner or later. We can't just jump back into lockdown all the time.

They're trying to gather as much information as possible in Auckland in the next three days through contact tracing and wide testing. If they can't identify the source of the cases, they will try and identify if there's wide geographical spread and more cases in the community. Bloomfield said they want to identify the extent of this outbreak and control it, and identify the source. Affected workplaces are being contacted. It's not possible to isolate just one part of Auckland. Unfortunately, the whole city needs to take a precautionary approach, Ardern said. Interviews are happening with the family and the original case at the moment. For two workplaces in question, immediate action has identified close contacts and shut down the workplace. They're expecting other cases to emerge. There'll be pop up clinics and longer hours at existing testing clinics in Auckland, Bloomfield said. An update will come on Friday about expectations moving forward.

While talk usually shifts to vaccines, I think the first big hope is the rapid tests being developed.

If it was inevitable, why the fuck did we mess around trying to achieve elimination?
