Hipkins suggests that possible contacts of the women who tested positive after travelling around Northland may be reluctant to come forward due to the nature of the exposure events.
"It is possible that the activities that people were engaged with in Northland means they have some wariness of coming forward, they're concerned about potentially exposing some other aspects of their lives they don't want to," he says.
"I just want to reiterate we won't use any information obtained through this process for those purposes, and that includes [that] we won't be sharing them publicly unless there's a very good reason to do so."There has been speculation that the woman in question is a sex worker, but officials haven't confirmed this, with Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern saying earlier this week there is "no evidence" to suggest that is her profession.
When Hipkins was asked on Wednesday if he could confirm the woman is a sex worker, he said that is "not the information" he's been given.
Nature of exposure events and the possible activities they were engaged in means some are wary of coming forward...what were they then if not sex workers, drug dealers? Destiny Church recruiting prospects?

My guess is the second option or similar.

Form to fill out on line is here
Takes less than 5 minutes. This is what comes back
That's an odd link. Doesn't end in the MoH .co.nz? I followed and completed the form, got an email reply from a legit looking MOH source, looks good

Oh dear. Welcome to the shit we've been dealing with for 18 months. A loud faction of the society absolutely adamant that we must be locked down forever with the government paying everybody full salaries until it's resolved.
They get listened to less and less every day.
God it's rough to simply lock down the largest city and give almost the rest of the country freedoms.

The so called public health experts seem to love being heavy handed without concern for all of us. People I talk to are becoming less and less enamoured with the strategy

@canefan well the expert 'group' the govt have been consulting with since last year now.say they weren't consulted for the latest raft of changes the govt is proposing for relaxing rules.
These people do seem way out of touch with reality though, not unlike the politicians they consult to, despite claiming they know how tough it is out there, I expect sleep safe in thier homes with little or no.fear they will lose thier job through continual lockdowns (even in Cindy's case she knows she has 2 years at least...)

From an outside looking in perspective, it seems to me that the strategy must have officially run it's course now.
As much as Ive been banging the drum about getting into NZ & Cindy's atrocious handling/communication of that, I appreciate that her first task must be to integrate Auckland back into NZ. I have no idea how she is planning that. It's a bit one country two systems to have Auckland trying to contain Covid, whilst the rest of the country maintains zero Covid. If you open up Auckland, you are saying to the rest of the country, we are giving you Covid.
It's a tough situation for Cindy. One she has brought about entirely herself and I have zero sympathy for.

Yes. Experts disagreeing with scientiststs disagreeing with Government & most importantly, disagreeing with Karen on Twitter.

@majorrage oh, and this group also felt that elimination was (and is) still possible....

Jacinda has been trying to please everyone, but that strategy is starting to make her look weak as lots of people are wondering why we are being held to ransom by an uncooperative minority

They were touting for a return to L4....

@taniwharugby said in Coronavirus - New Zealand:
@canefan Northland has been kept at L3 (currently stricter than Aucklands L3 with picnics) due to 2 selfish women.
It will continue to happen. Vaccination is our only way out of this.

Oh, I forgot to add, local government disagreeing with government. I.e - Sadiq Khan cancelling London NY fireworks despite their being zero restrictions in England.
