Coronavirus - Australia

@voodoo Hey, don't ruin "my friends told me" with a graph.
Actually, that could more relate to the fact that more Westies are going to be essential workers who need to travel, whereas us city and northern latte sippers can all work from home.
-
@voodoo be interesting to see how they calculate that, particularly filtering to "retail & recreation" only.
The distances you need to travel for anything rise as you move out from the central suburbs, and the population density affecting the weighted average might be the key there.

Yet, from discussions with friends out West they've been adhering to the Stay At Home Order better than us city folk and those plastic lipped twats out East.
Places like Bondi Beach make very visible - and occasionally misleading - photo opportunities. There was one early on in 2020 which made it look packed, but really it was only about 100 people up and down the length of the place, and fairly well spaced.
When I've had to go out to the Supermarket this week it has been pretty dead in terms of car and foot traffic, but local parks and paths are busy with people exercising.
Not today tho - fucking miserable right now with showers and temp of about 8C.

I'm more talking about our current lockdown and what I've seen with my own eyes - I avoid Bondi even when I'm not locked down.
Both weekends there have been multiple picnics in the park in Pyrmont, and I don't mean exercising or parents sitting while their kids play in the playground. Straight up sitting around in a group exercising the arm up and down picking up food and drink.
When I walked to get my jab via Broadway and down Parramatta Road I actually thought I'd crossed a border from lockdown to no lockdown. And then I saw a bloody gym operating.
I spend half my non Fern time double checking the NSW site as I keep thinking I'm getting the restrictions wrong.

I've learned where the boundaries of the Blacktown LGA are taking The Boy for driving lessons.

Why the fuck did I leave QLD last week??!!
If there's a quarantine or lockdown, you'll find it.
correlation = causation right?

I'm just going to go where ever you're not. No risk of covid at all.
Curious as to why governments want to restrict your movements so much. With me it's obvious...but what have you done?

IIRC he is quite fond of lycra. Nobody wants that out and about.

That could well be it, and another reason to not be anywhere near him.
Could you actually arrest him for that? Just asking, you know, offensive attire or something? Just hoping.

@crazy-horse said in Coronavirus - Australia:
@snowy I am sure I'd get up on a public nuisance charge.
You could do that for his presence here. Throw in some lycra he could be away for quite some time.

then reintegrate into society!
You were doing well until then.

@taniwharugby said in Coronavirus - Australia:
@voodoo weren't you planning a trip to NZ?
Think you should go live in a bunker for a year, let Covid die out and then reintegrate into society!
I blame him for ruining my trip back, IIRC he came back just in time to cause the latest lockdown two days before I was due to fly out.
