Ok this chick is lying on the green with her legs spread around the hole motivating your putt. Filth.

Played pretty avg today at Peninsula with 85 off the stick and a measly 34stableford.

Only prize was for longest drive where I hit one just over 280m and it was less than a metre ahead of one of the clubs legends. Felt good!

hey TR and JK and other Auckland golfers.

I need recommendations on a course to play in Auckland for a bucks afternoon. Think less the Dive Industry day i described above, think more a couple of 4s of guys having a hit and a few beers (of wildly varying abilities).

Any ideas where we could have a bit of fun?

Formosa. Get carts and load with beer. Great golf drink course.

i've yet to play Formosa, but agree with Hooroo for the reasons he put.

We had a stag night at Leigh one weekend, rented a house, hired some carts, got pissed up and walked back to the house for more beers.

Mangawhai would be another for that, but both those are obviously not in Auckland.

are you blokes sure? looks pretty nice. are they cool with randoms on their course en masse?

Formosa is actually pretty relaxed and is good with the carts. It's a big course too with not too many overlapping holes so you are unlikely to disturb others

Other courses that are quite casual and easy to get on are howick, whangaparoa, waitakere, etc but none are as good quality as Formosa.

If you don't mind a drive then Omaha could also be an option but its an hour north of the city. Nice course with carts and again fairly relaxed

M4L Formosa used to be one of the best courses in the country but went bankrupt. All the members got together to buy it so they now own it and have done up the course but no where near its former glory. Tee to green though is still immaculate.

Nice call on Formosa guys. They're super helpful, and the price is very reasonable (ok, it's cheap as f*ck).

The practice putting green is comedy too. It would be the toughest green in NZ if it was on the course proper.

They have a cool clubhouse too.

yeah that practice green lol

My number 1 tip for playing there is watch where your ball lands if you miss the fairway. The rough is fairly long and hides balls easily.
